Young Hollywood

Welcome to Young Hollywood, guys. I am hanging out today with Logan Shroyer. What's up? Great to see you.

Logan Shroyer

Hey.

Young Hollywood

Welcome to studio.

Logan Shroyer

Thank you.

Young Hollywood

It's your first time here.

Logan Shroyer

It is.

Young Hollywood

What are your thoughts?

Logan Shroyer

It's great.

Young Hollywood

You like your comfortable couch?

Logan Shroyer

I love it. Yeah. I'm kind of going to fall asleep right now, it's really comfortable.

Young Hollywood

We recently had the kids, the younger kids on This Is Us in studio.

Logan Shroyer

Yes, yes, yes, yes.

Young Hollywood

They are so energetic.

Logan Shroyer

Oh yeah. They're rife. Yeah. I love their life.

Young Hollywood

I love the show. I love how close every time I, you know, meet someone from the cast, I love how close I can tell everybody from the show.

Logan Shroyer

Yeah. It's hard not to bond, honestly, with the type of scripts that we have. But yeah.

Young Hollywood

Let's talk a little bit about your other interests too because I believe you're very musical.

Logan Shroyer

I can play guitar. I can do guitar really well. But yeah.

Young Hollywood

How long have you been playing guitar?

Logan Shroyer

I've been playing guitar for a long time. I could take it more seriously and I could be better, but I think my dad got me in lessons when I was like 10.

Young Hollywood

Really?

Logan Shroyer

Yeah. I've been playing for a really long time.

Young Hollywood

Do you still play today?

Logan Shroyer

Yeah, totally.

Young Hollywood

Do you have any other hidden talents?

Logan Shroyer

I'm a surfer. I was I my It's so funny. So I went to high school at Redondo Union. And we have a surf team.

Young Hollywood

Awesome.

Logan Shroyer

at my high school. So I was on the surf team.

Young Hollywood

You have the surfer hair.

Logan Shroyer

Thank you.

Young Hollywood

So I I can I can tell that. Yeah.

Logan Shroyer

Surfing and then ping-pong. Pretty good at ping-pong.

Young Hollywood

Awesome.

Logan Shroyer

We always had a ping-pong table at my house and my dad was freaking killing us. I could never beat him still, but yeah, I don't know.

Young Hollywood

Did you get any time before filming started to sit down with Parker? Oh. So, little Kevin, and then also big Kevin, Justin.

Logan Shroyer

I never sat down with Parker. Um, but I have sat down with Justin. We've just kind of like talked about it. What's great about the show is like everybody really does give their space. Um, like everybody's just very, very respectful, you know, cuz cuz someone like Justin could give like line readings and sort of but he was like, "You know what, man? It's your character too, but let's talk about like the heart of Kevin and kind of cuz there's a lot Kevin's very complicated, so it's like hard to tell in

Young Hollywood

He's complicated.

Logan Shroyer

But there's a lot of great Yeah, there's a lot of great um parallels with the writing that sort of makes it more seamless like that.

Young Hollywood

I heard you had only one audition. Is that right?

Logan Shroyer

Yeah, it was crazy. I mean, it didn't feel like it didn't feel like some sort of a special thing like this was it. It was just like a last minute kind of like audition and then, okay, you booked it.

Young Hollywood

Did you know how big this show was going to be going in? Did you have a feeling or was it just like a normal audition and you were walking in and then it just happened?

Logan Shroyer

I had no idea. I knew the script was good, which is really, I mean, that was why I was excited about it. So I knew, okay, good script. This is awesome.

Young Hollywood

So, obviously the show has had a big return spoiler spoiler alert for anybody that hasn't kept up with it yet, but obviously Jack in the show, he dies. That's been the heart throb of everything thus far. Did you know that that was going to happen or at what point during filming did you realize that? And did you freak out?

Logan Shroyer

Um, we knew we knew for a while that he was going to die but we didn't know how and like when we were sat down and told Actually, we weren't even really sat down and told it's almost like

Young Hollywood

Did you just read it?

Logan Shroyer

No, well, that usually if you're not in the the scene it's omitted from the script. So even like stuff with the teenage ones, I mean, the older cast, they know everything. Right. But it's omitted from all the scripts that everyone gets. So like Mandy screaming at the end when the house is burned, like that was not in the script. It was like omitted for secrecy.

Young Hollywood

Well, and like you said, we don't want to give any spoilers away, but the finale is approaching. If you could give the finale one word. Oh, wow. What would it be?

Logan Shroyer

I'm going to do like a hyphen word. I'm going to say happy cry. Happy

Young Hollywood

This whole show is happy cry.

Logan Shroyer

Yeah, yeah. No, like it's it's going to be it's going to be sad. It's going to be sad, but I think that there's going to be a lot of like joyous crying in this one instead of sort of the last finale was a little bit more of like harsh ending, you know, hard cut throat. Uh this one's really good. I I love this one.

Young Hollywood

So to toss out the interview I have a question for you. I'm going to ask three different questions and you have to tell me if there's a person that you think of with the question. So, if you had to choose an on camera love interest, an on camera BFF, and an on camera new dad. An okay. Who would you choose? So dad, BFF, and on camera crush.

Logan Shroyer

Um, I'm going to just be basic. I think this is probably like most people's answers. Love interest Margot Robbie. I'm sorry.

Young Hollywood

Got it. Got it. Got it.

Logan Shroyer

Best friend. My real best friend should just get these rolls, honestly, Patrick. Yeah, yeah.

Young Hollywood

His best friend's hanging out over here.

Logan Shroyer

Yeah, yeah. And um is is the age right for Leo to be my dad, Leonardo DiCaprio? Would that work?

Young Hollywood

Let's say it. Let's say it. Let's just put that out there. Let's do it. Wait, but I'm Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie. But Margot Robbie is your love interest.

Logan Shroyer

Yeah, that doesn't work. No, no, no, that doesn't work. We have to switch that up.

Young Hollywood

Okay. All right, well, we'll work on that. Thank you so much for hanging out. Great to meet you and welcome in.

Logan Shroyer

Thank you. Yeah. Thank you very much. I loved it.
