Rob Lowe

Hi it's Rob Lowe from my new movie Prosecuting Casey Anthony.

Young Hollywood

Ooh, it's Rob Lowe. That was your Stewie impersonation.

Rob Lowe

That was my Stewie impersonation.

Young Hollywood

I give it a B+.

Rob Lowe

You're being very generous.

Young Hollywood

You have good tweets. I I like I really like it. You're a good tweeter. Some people are not as good as others.

Rob Lowe

There was a whole article about my tweets and and I saw that. Unbelievable.

Young Hollywood

What did it say?

Rob Lowe

That they were good. I like things that are good. I think I like things when they're nice about me.

Young Hollywood

We have a couple pictures from your Twitter up on the monitor behind you that we wanted to address, right behind you. Okay. All right. Oh, look. You tweeted. It's it's me and Jack Reacher.

Rob Lowe

Jack Reacher. Yes. Yes. That was back when you did the A. We were babies. I had just turned 19.

Young Hollywood

Wow. Wow. And how old was Jack at the time?

Rob Lowe

Jack Reacher was I think Jack Reacher is one year older than I am. I think.

Young Hollywood

Unbelievable. So that's Tommy 20. I think. Have you are you friendly with him still? Have you seen him?

Rob Lowe

Yeah, I I when we're together or any of the guys from The Outsiders, it's kind of the equivalent of being with your frat brothers that you went to college. That's the age that's college age. We were on location together, living together. He's my frat brother. We went through a lot together all of us. Coming up at the same time. Doing a lot of the same movies and so you know there's a just a huge amazing bond that that we have that that we'll always have.

Young Hollywood

Same same amount of steakhouse. I think you tweeted that it was like one of your favorites for unknown reasons.

Rob Lowe

This is um this is the place to eat in Indianapolis. We were on location for Parks and Rec and it's named St. Elmo's. I would have thought they would give me some sort of licensing money. Turns out it'd been there since 1912 and they had no idea about that.

Young Hollywood

You're kidding. And did they give you the spicy shrimp? Because I heard the shrimp.

Rob Lowe

Yes the spicy shrimp is amazing.

Young Hollywood

Oh, yes. Oh, that got that got you excited.

Rob Lowe

I'm very I'm very proud of that photo. Took it myself.

Young Hollywood

So you had you had good seats obviously. Were you backstage?

Rob Lowe

He's the man. He's my he's my all-time favorite and and I love him. He's an inspiration to me.

Young Hollywood

So your holidays, I did see on your Twitter that says you were bringing in the new year with Kenny Loggins singing Danger Zone.

Rob Lowe

Yes. First of all, when you sing Danger Zone, oh yeah, I know Danger Zone. And then you get it and you go, no you don't. You know, I went to the Danger Zone. That's what you know. Meanwhile there's a whole song.

Young Hollywood

So did Kenny give you any feedback?

Rob Lowe

Yeah, halfway through the song he kind of looked at me like, ooh boy. This is raw. Yeah, it was it was it was fun. He's such a great guy and and I was a big party and Seth MacFarlane had just done Sinatra and you I should have known don't follow Seth MacFarlane ever. Because does he do anything wrong by the way? Everything he does. Everything Seth I Seth is my hero. My my single favorite moment in television was turning on Family Guy apropos of nothing and seeing Stewie in a makeup chair with a very flamboyant makeup artist putting on Stewie's makeup and Stewie says, please let me do one more. And the makeup artist goes all right one more and Stewie goes, Rob Lowe. And the makeup artist goes, straight. And Stewie goes, no. You've never known what to look at him.

Young Hollywood

Prosecuting Casey Anthony. Yes. Lifetime movie you executive produced it. You star in it. You play the prot the actual prosecutor. Had you had you followed the story before you were you were really into it?

Rob Lowe

They came to me with this story of this man who had an incredible career. 30 years as a prosecutor. He is going to take one last case to go out on top and then figure out what what next level he wants to go to. He picks the Casey Anthony case which looks like a slam dunk and it all goes wrong. Caylee was never murdered. Okay. She accidentally drowned in the pool on June 16th. And Casey trusted someone she never should have to take care of it. Like who? George Anthony. You know what? Bring it.

Young Hollywood

And on the flip side Parks and Rec. Yeah. New season coming out.

Rob Lowe

New season coming out. Um, we were very happy to be named Time Magazine's best show on television.

Young Hollywood

I did see that. Congratulations. And you know, because I'm a Homeland fan.

Rob Lowe

Are you?

Young Hollywood

Huge. So I was like yeah. Take that Abunazir. If you can top Homeland that that there you go.

Rob Lowe

Yeah. If you can top Homeland you're in good shape. The second half of this year for my character for Chris. It is is a big one. They're very a huge huge huge event.

Young Hollywood

Really?

Rob Lowe

Is going to transpire in his personal life. And it's very sweet. It's very moving and very I think unexpected and I am having so much fun doing it.

Young Hollywood

How much how much because he's so like neurotic?

Rob Lowe

He's getting better. He's seeing he's seeing his

Young Hollywood

But how much are you sort of how much of Rob is in that character?

Rob Lowe

Depends on who you ask.

Young Hollywood

Are you like okay. So are you like how do you sort of because this is the other thing. And I'm sure you've heard this many many times. People in Hollywood talk about, you know how they talk about like the six degrees of Kevin Bacon?

Rob Lowe

Yes.

Young Hollywood

They talk about how Rob Lowe doesn't age.

Rob Lowe

Thanks guys. Thank you.

Young Hollywood

And you don't. So what is I don't know if there's a little crossover with the character. So what is your sort of regimen?

Rob Lowe

I do share Chris's um uh enthusiasm for physical activity. I do. I mean, look these writers who are great. I came in and met with them and they took, you know, as any great writer they took funny interesting things of mine and then blew them up beyond any reasonable thing.

Young Hollywood

Of course. Of course.

Rob Lowe

I mean, you know, Chris this year has been seeing his psychiatrist Dr. Richard Nygard 15 times a day. So um

Young Hollywood

That's not you.

Rob Lowe

He's he's yes. I he's getting he's getting better. So um I I there's that's the thing I like about Parks and Rec is if you go back and look at the seasons, the characters grow. And Chris will always be who he is but by the end of this year he's going to have transformed a lot I think.
