Fresh.

It's new.

What makes it different, though?

It's one instrument makes it a lot different.

Because you're not, you're not using like bass and and drums, right?

Like you're doing different.

You're using like a lot of strings.

Yeah, mostly.

Yeah, pretty much just single guitar and rocking out that way.

But also, I think it's just my approach.

I make whatever kind of music I wanna make.

People happen to say it's R&B.

That's what makes it feel different, too.

Because it's like, yo, let's check out this R&B and it's like this this is different if this is R&B.

Okay, so what like how would you classify your music then?

Just good music.

I was just, yeah, I was just talking with Ne-Yo the other day and I was saying to him, low-key like he's just a great artist.

Like he's not an R&B artist.

He's like artist, Ne-Yo.

And that's what I hope to be.

Is that how you want to be like perceived as well?

Yeah, for sure.

Hopefully.

But I understand it takes time.

You have to prove to people essentially that like you're not just this one thing.

People try to box you in and stuff.

I heard, though, that your your first two albums or EPs, Volume One, Volume Two, you created on a MacBook Pro.

Because I wanted to show people that you don't have to have a million dollars to make a project to make a million dollars.

You're in the studio right now, though, right?

No, cuz I'm producing my album live now.

Like my actual LP album, I'm like playing drum like, I can't do that.

In the same So you're doing like all the instrumentation as well.

Yeah.

On this new project.

One thing I love about like artists that are coming up working on that 2012 MacBook Pro in a in a BV, like in a closet recording is like there's something raw and authentic to it, you know what I mean?

Does that has that crossed your mind like when you're in the studio right now?

Yeah, for sure.

It's like, dang.

But, you know, that's why I make the Volume Series.

So it's like after the album, I'll do a Volume Three and then I just keep doing the volumes forever.

I just like enjoy music and I want to do it as long as it's fun and it's makes me happy.

You just finished your first tour.

Yeah, it was amazing.

I was there at the Roxy.

Oh, that's crazy.

It was super dope.

You do a great job of just commanding the show, the crowd and all that.

You do this awesome thing where you pull up a fan and like you create a song on the spot.

How did that come about?

And is that like how you create music just in general?

I just do it in my life.

I've like point pick out a part of my life, like it's a relationship or a situation that happened.

I'm like, all right, cool.

I'm write about that.

It's pretty simple.

I don't wanna put you on the spot like feel free to decline if you want to.

But do you think you could do like a little a little something in the from the studio to something?

I was riding around all day, hoping that at some point I would say, I'm with young Hollywood in Hollywood.

Everyone, everyone knows the story like you're in the studio, Cameron called you Pink Sweats.

But I want to know like what made you want to like ride with it and then put it on like as a full aesthetic, right?

Like you live this every single day now.

You actually, I'll tell you, you save time on your life.

If I walk in a store, I'm like, okay, I'm gonna go and get something pink.

Because like a lot of things, I feel like a lot of stores don't have a lot of pink things.

Now people just give me pink stuff.

So it's a lot way easier.

I couldn't find anything cool enough though.

How would you describe like this new era of your music, like working in the studio and all that.

It's like even more fresh.

It's like when Febreze come out with a new scent.

Like with that LP when it's done, you're like, dang, like how does he how how?

I feel like a lot of artists rely on the beats.

Yeah.

In your music it's different in that like your vocals definitely carry the song.

That's one thing you learn.

It's easy to make people get hyped.

It's hard to make people quiet.

It's easy to go, turn up, turn up, turn up.

It's hard to make people go And not get annoyed and start talking to someone else.

You put a knocking beat on, people move.

You don't even got to say nothing.

You could go to a You could think about it.

You go to clubs and they just play music.

The art side of it is like challenge.

You know, don't always give a listener what you think they want to hear.

Sometimes you need to give people what you might feel that they need.

It's like vegetables.

It's like you can't only eat chips and And in and out and all that, right?

What kind of impact do you want your music to have?

I want people to be like, dang, like, oh, you on the Pink Sweats vibe.

You know how like The Migos came in and they just destroyed like they killed so hard with like their new flow.

Like they introduced something to the rap game that wasn't there.

And then everybody was like, oh, that's The Migos flow.

Like with Drake, like the certain vibe.

I want people to be like that's the Pink Sweats vibe.
