Young Hollywood

I'm Oliver Jovina here at the Young Hollywood Studio, outside in this lovely gorgeous weather with the gorgeous Margaret Show. How are you?

Margaret Cho

I'm doing great. Thank you.

Young Hollywood

So, drop dead diva, obviously, you're on at the moment. Um, but you have your new, uh, your new CD and your new tour coming out.

Margaret Cho

Yeah. Cho Dependent.

Young Hollywood

Cho Dependent. I like that. Cho Dependent. Very clever.

Margaret Cho

Well, because you're going to be addicted to it. Addiction is very easy, so.

Young Hollywood

And tell us about it. It's a CD, but it's comedy, it's music.

Margaret Cho

I wanted to do a comedy album, but I wanted to do it with songs as jokes. And I hope you weren't in too much pain. I guess I'm criminally insane. So, it's a really good musical album, but it's just jokes. Yeah, it it rocks. But it's, you know, all sort of rude jokes, dirty jokes.

Young Hollywood

Sounds sounds good to me. It's good. It's addicting already. And, uh, there's one track on there that the the story that I read behind it is amazing. I'm sorry.

Margaret Cho

Oh, well, that's a horrible, horrible story that I was really in love with somebody in 1994. But I turned 40, and I thought, I should find out what he's doing because, you know, at 40, everybody kind of gets rid of their spouse and starts again. You know. Like, so I thought, this might be a this might be a good time. So, I looked him up online, and his name came up and it said, he's, you know, American producer, uh, wrote on all-American girl with Margot Cho. And in 2007, he was convicted of the murder of his wife.

Young Hollywood

Wow.

Margaret Cho

So, it's really good that we didn't hook up. That's great because otherwise, I wouldn't be working today. Right. Also, I'm not a good judge of character. Obviously. I shouldn't pick him.

Young Hollywood

From that experience, probably not.

Margaret Cho

Probably not. Yeah, I shouldn't.

Young Hollywood

That makes it a little bit easier to get over someone, doesn't it?

Margaret Cho

Well, yeah, it does if they're a murderer.

Young Hollywood

Well, that's good then. That's good. You look very happy and bubbly and Has your mom heard your CD?

Margaret Cho

Uh, she hasn't heard it. Although, I have written a song with her to sing on the next one. I told her I wanted to be a comedian when I was 14 and and, uh, she said, oh, maybe it's better if you just died. Okay. But now her attitude has changed. She's much she's much more supportive.

Young Hollywood

I like that you didn't listen to that.

Margaret Cho

Yeah.

Young Hollywood

Because once again, you would have died.

Margaret Cho

Yeah, exactly.

Young Hollywood

For reasons along the way, why you could have or would have or more deaths. Yeah, yeah. Let's let's move on from death. Okay. Um, drop dead diva, you've, uh, worked with some amazing they've had some amazing cameos on that show.

Margaret Cho

Yes, and, uh, it it it's Liza Minnelli. And and Cybill Shepherd. I love the message of it, which is all about feeling beautiful and women of all different sizes can feel good about themselves and feel they can be loved and cherished and and so I think that's a wonderful message to have out there.

Young Hollywood

Did you know about Parker and Kim?

Margaret Cho

I suspect it. I don't get it. I mean, what is he doing with her? I guess he's into dirty blondes. Emphasis on the dirty.

Young Hollywood

Um, we have a few little, uh, questions in my pocket. You wondered what I was reaching for then, didn't you?

Margaret Cho

Yes.

Young Hollywood

It's Battle of the Divas. Battle of the Divas. Yeah. So, you ready? You've got to pick.

Margaret Cho

Ready.

Young Hollywood

Your favorite. Right. Share or Liza Minnelli?

Margaret Cho

Oh, that's a There's a hard one. That's right. Yeah, that's really tough because I love Share. I mean, I would but I love Liza. So.

Young Hollywood

You've got to make a choice. I'm sorry.

Margaret Cho

Okay, Liza.

Young Hollywood

Okay, wow. Share. Yeah, yeah. Wow. Um, and last but not least, Ryan Seacrest or Simon Cowell?

Margaret Cho

I would say Ryan, because he's just kind of cheery.

Young Hollywood

Okay. Don't stick with the Brits. Okay. That's fine.

Margaret Cho

Nothing personal. That was weird.

Young Hollywood

Well, good luck with Cho Dependent.

Margaret Cho

Thank you.

Young Hollywood

I'm addicted. Hope everyone else out there gets addicted. Um, very lovely, bubbly, funny lady, and Share, I'm sorry about what she said. I would have chosen you. I believe in life after love.
