He looks pretty good though for after winning the Stanley Cup and you know, it's short summer. I think he's still holding in there pretty good.
Well, I think you need to stand up and just show off for a second.
Well, we stand up? Yeah. Flex. If he took his off, I'd look a lot. Okay, wait, wait. give a play-by-play. Oh god. That's not bad, right? That's not bad. For a guy who's been fat his whole life, that's not bad. He's getting hydrated over here, bro. Lock out? What lock out?
What's up, guys? Leslie Robinson here. Young Hollywood has exclusive access. We are on the ice as some of your favorite NHL players skate for charity. What are you bringing to the ice today as coach Michael Rosenbaum?
I'm bringing a big W, Leslie. You know what a W means? It means win. My main tip is like, it's for charity, but we're we're here to win. I want my team to win. I certainly don't want to lose. Got a couple side bets going on. So we need to win this game. Slone, get over here. Get over here. I told them, "Look, this is a charity game tonight." But is it really? You got the lockout, you got all this crap going on in the world. We got a lot of stuff to work for here. We gotta get ourselves for this game. Oh, I don't know about game 7, but No, don't tell me you're going to half ass it for a charity game. You're going to see the first couple of shifts really hard and then the last couple. Are you in shape? For what? All right, your bench. Your bench. Defense, defense, defense. I think that's what wins a game like this. We get we have some good defensemen and that's that's going to be our strategy today. So this is playoff hockey tonight. We're I want to see some good hockey. You used to be able to come to see guys shaking hands and having fun.
What's your name?
Jonas, Jonas Hord.
Hey, you're on camera right now, buddy. Listen, I want you got to play harder tonight.
I can't I can't talk right now.
You can't talk. Excited to be here tonight?
Uh, yeah, sure, sure.
Is Anaheim going to win?
Oh yeah, I mean is it that a question or not?
Give me some coaching strategies you're bringing to the ice.
Coaching strategy number one: you got to get off the ice quickly. So when you're getting to the bench, you just got to hurl over the bench, you got to switch, and you're over. You don't go over here. You don't This is what weiners do, all right? Weiners open the door and sit down. Four minutes left, they're kind of blowing it now.
Sheldon, What do you think about tonight's game?
Oh, it's been a hard fought battle here. Uh, guys really working hard. Trying to compete out there. It's been tough.
What do you think about it?
I'm I'm freaking starving right now. I I could use a sandwich. All right, let's go. What are we doing here?
This is going to be your first win of the season, coach.
First win of the season. It sure is.
How does it feel?
It feels good, you know. We need this with with the lockout and everything, this is real. We play to win. Guys worked hard tonight. Players worked hard. Not going to be a bad session. Except this guy right here, Williams. He didn't work that hard.
Why are you not out on that ice right now?
Um, still not quite 100%. Uh, I got some uh got some work to do. Uh, but obviously it's just great to be a part of here part of this and being on the bench with the guys and still enjoy the the game here.
So are you coaching them at all with Kevin and Michael, or are you just standing in the background?
Uh, I'm just kind of making fun of guys that mess up and uh Kevin's kind of taking it a little too serious. I think he's yelling at guys when they make make a mistake and he's really kind of trying to draw up game plans, so uh it's a it's a lot of fun though. We're having a good time.
We are crashing the locker room. Let's go. So, you guys have had some uh downtime in the hockey season. Are you picking up any new hobbies? You're like, "Wow, I'm good at this."
Uh, playing a lot of golf. That's about it. We're in Southern California. What else are you going to do? Um, golf and surfing. That's about it. I'm playing a little more golf and and doing a lot more fathering. Golf a lot. I play a lot of golf and uh went to Ireland uh for about a week, played some golf over there.
Are you playing golf too?
It's an addiction. It's better than some other things, like a street drug or something like that. I have a golf addiction. I you know what? I've been having so much fun lately that I'm almost tired of having so much fun. I'm ready to go back and play hockey. I have two young kids that fortunately um the lockout has has allowed me to stay home a little bit more and and and hang with them and watch them grow up a little bit more than I would have uh otherwise, but this keeps going on, I might have to learn an instrument, maybe the guitar or something.
So what's it like uh a duck playing amongst some kings?
It was good. It was fun. You know what? It's the first time I've ever been clapped for in this building, that's for sure. So. That was an upbeat thing.
So what'd you do with the cup?
I went back home to my hometown in Canada. Spent some time with her, went golfing, hung out with my family, went to the mall, did a signing. Just things that I wasn't able to last time I went home with it.
So you've had some downtime. How has your nutrition, you know, differed now that you're not playing every day?
I think some people have to watch it a little bit more than others. Um, obviously you can just tell, you can look around the room and see who they are.
If you could create your own Subway sandwich, what would be on it?
I actually created one today with with salami and cheese and lettuce, onions, ranch, and pepper jack cheese. It's pretty solid.
What kind of bread do you choosing?
Uh, the herb and cheese bread. I'm a big fan.
Toasted or non-toasted?
Toasted today. I went I went outside. I normally toast, but that was a big decision today.
And if you could name that sandwich, what name you giving it?
Oh.
What would you name it with all those ingredients?
I think that's called the Epic Sandwich. I love it. Let's do it. We'll work with that. We'll send that into Subway. Maybe you can get me a sponsorship. I don't exactly have a paycheck coming in right now. Subway, eat fresh. Maybe turkey and ham and uh on a foot long on white.
And would you give it a name if you could, you know, name your own sandwich?
Uh, the number one. I'm not sure about creating my own, but I'd probably just go with the classic Italian. I'd say it's uh double meat. That's usually pretty good for me. Probably the Subway Melt. I'm just a I'm just a pretty uh easy, simple guy that works with. Just give me something quick and fast.
We'll break that Melt down. What's on it?
Uh, turkey, ham, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, honey mustard. The chicken pizzaiola, which I don't know if they do down here, but it's a Canadian one. Yeah. Yeah, it's a Subway one. Chicken and pepperoni with a little marinara sauce and you're good to go.
How did it feel to get on the ice and have fun? It wasn't so stressful. You didn't have to win.
Yeah, but the thing was I I haven't played a game in so long. I was actually kind of nervous coming into the into the game, which was weird, but it was really fun. It was good uh just really good to get out there and get it with the guys and and no matter what team you're from or whatever, it's just fun to get around the guys again and feel like you're part of a team, but it was really fun playing with Shane. We haven't played together in a long time and he set me up for a goal tonight, which was nice. So it was nice to hear O'Brien Richardson from O'Brien, you know, you don't hear that very often, so it was really good.
Shane O'Brien, you're watching Young Hollywood. Brad Richardson, you're watching Young Hollywood. And I'm in between two half-naked hockey players.
