I'm strangely concerned because I'm feeling actually really quite fine at the moment, in fact, more energetic than I usually do. Right? So it was got this. RJ here, hanging out with the Young Hollywood studio. Now, you know we love introducing you to brand new talent that just has broken through and this is a guy that's broken through in a big way. One of the top shows out in Game of Thrones, everybody's obsessing over.

Eugene Simon

It is. It's been doing well. It's been doing well. We've got a second season that's scheduled to come out in April now. And there has been a lot of hype leading up to it, actually, which I'm looking forward to.

Young Hollywood

It's one of those shows that you have like, you know, the True Bloods of the world that just have like that rabid fan following. And Game of Thrones has become one of that.

Eugene Simon

Yeah, I think I think Game of Thrones is very fortunate in that sense because you know, George R. R. Martin who wrote the, you know, the books in the first place has written such a fantastic set of books. And so that's where I think a lot of the following sort of originated from. When HBO announced it was turning it into a TV series, I think that only just only just kept the ball rolling. So it now has a very very big fan base, which I'm very happy to say.

Young Hollywood

And what's it like working with HBO? Because you know, you see all these film stars that like Dustin Hoffman now doing his show that don't traditionally do TV. And HBO's like a whole another level.

Eugene Simon

I I I tell you from what I've seen of HBO. When when I first started sort of really watching a lot of their shows, it was sort of the magnitude of sort of the some of the shows that they do. And firstly, the popular shows you say like True Blood do incredibly well as they as they should do. When I first arrived on set, I, as I said, was just completely mesmerized by the size of the sets, the amount of extras, the actual costumes they're going on, all of which HBO have just, you know, completely put their heart and soul into creating something that's incredibly real. And so hopefully in Game of Thrones, they'll be able to see even more real life action.

Young Hollywood

It's like a mini movie every day, it's kind of cool.

Eugene Simon

Yeah, yeah, that's exactly the way of describing it.

Young Hollywood

And now and now let's talk about the traveling because it's pretty intense schedule. I mean, you literally came from the airport and you came straight to visit us. So thank you.

Eugene Simon

Oh, I did. I did. I did. My bag is my bag is still in the car. I'm still yet to.

Young Hollywood

You're a you're a good man.

Eugene Simon

I'm still yet to actually go home and dump it off. But no.

Young Hollywood

What are they tell you? You can dump it off. Sleep for a season.

Eugene Simon

I'm strangely concerned because I'm feeling actually really quite fine at the moment. In fact, more energetic than I usually do. Right? So it was I've got this. Um so yeah, but you know the traveling has been uh something that I've just adjusted to.

Young Hollywood

And the shows are shooting in some pretty incredible places. I mean, from Croatia, Ireland. You're you're all over the place. What's it like keeping track of where you have to be, when and what places you're going to?

Eugene Simon

Well, I mean, I I have my sort of my my base really, which is where I film House of Anubis, which is Liverpool, which is where me and my friends have been filming the past seven months. And then when I needed to hop over to do Game of Thrones from time to time, you know, it literally be hop skipping a jump from Liverpool to Belfast. And I'd be there in about an hour and a half. I mean, it really is that quick. Getting off the plane and I'd be on to do filming for Game of Thrones having just filmed House of Anubis that afternoon.

Young Hollywood

So, you know, we've been talking about all these great projects you're doing on HBO. Now, total opposite end of the spectrum. House of Anubis on Nickelodeon. How do you how do you get in the mindset of okay, now I'm in serious in a battle scene for HBO. And now I'm in a a kid show on Nickelodeon.

Eugene Simon

Well, you know, because they are so opposite, it's fairly easy. Well, not easier, but, you know, sort of more simple than you think to flip between two very opposite mindframes. It's rather like being incredibly happy and then being incredibly angry. There's such a contrast. What the flowers for? Beth from Dro. To say thank you for letting him borrow my hair straightener. So I think when the the the the flight's over and sort of arriving and seeing the set and seeing, you know, the the the actors and the actors who I who I associate with HBO and who I associate with House of Anubis, um, is what really helps us sort of get into that mindframe if you like.

Young Hollywood

Now, lastly, any any secrets you can tell us that the diehard fans of the show would just die to know.

Eugene Simon

For those of you who have read the books or seen some of the adverts that have recently been released, there is a particular battle scene, which um Game of Thrones are particularly good at doing. But towards the end, there is a battle scene that is going to blow your mind away. And I was part of that, um, for my final five days of filming. So what I will say is that, you know, if you're going to watch you have to choose an episode to really stick towards, try to try to really tip it towards the end because the whole way through it's fantastic. And the end, the finale is just going to be unbelievable battle wise.

Young Hollywood
