Hi, how's it going? My name is Bridget Mendler, and I'm going to uh sing a song called "Do You Miss Me At All." This is Roberto, Michael, let's do this. When this feel, I see color the blacks and the blues. Here comes another night. Without you looking over the trees and the roofs, and I don't know what I would find.

What is going on, Young Hollywood? Hi! We have Bridget Mendler here in the studio. That song was amazing.

Oh, thank you. Do you miss me? I like that. Thanks. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, just straightforward, you know.

I'll listen to your older stuff. Huge transformation between, "Hello, my name is," to now. Very different. You were with like the Hollywood Records, you're with the Disney family. You were working with like a lot of producers, just to put out a lot of songs earlier in your career, right? And then you found these, these lovely guys right here who are playing behind you.

I did work with a lot of different producers and I think that's just not my, it's not my vibe. I like having the time to get in with a group of people you trust and it's just nice having the comfort of like people who that are really invested just as much as you are. I think that's really what I wanted. Yeah.

Do you miss me at all? Do you wonder what I'm up to without you? Do you miss me at all? Do you want to leave a message on my phone saying, "I'm coming home"?

You're talking about a more emotional stuff. Yes. Like we were, we were talking earlier, you said, "This is about like fears and overcoming fears." The song, the, the EP's called Nemesis. So, do you have any fears that you had to overcome when you're writing this or?

I mean, yes, like putting, putting out this music. That's okay. As like an artist, these are the struggles. One, no one likes it. Two, I mean, most importantly, you don't like it. Like, that's the hardest thing is to make something that you like. Like, you have this idea of something in your head and it takes so much work to actually articulate it. And like, that was the thing that ultimately I finally came to this thing that I was really proud of and I was like, "Alright, well the only scary thing is like what if the world doesn't like it?" And I was like, "That's not a good enough reason to not put it out because I need to be honest with myself and with my listeners."

In this room, got a wallpaper stick that glue into my memory. So do you think me over once in a blue moon? Cause you always rise to me. I don't know if you're even in the city. Don't know if you're even at home. Don't know who you're spending all your time with. But do you miss me at all?

You have a good story about "Do You Miss Me?" and how you're writing it. You were five freeway, yeah. Tell them, tell them. You know all the answers. Come on. These people they might need to know some stuff here, Young Hollywood.

Oh yeah. Yeah, uh, so I was doing a lot of road trips and I'd gotten up to San Francisco, was driving around Golden Gate Park. I had like been on the phone with a friend of mine and we hopped off the phone and I was so frustrated by the subject of our conversation that I was like, "Ugh!" Just need to like sing something out right now to express what I feel. And thus came the chorus. It just kind of like sang out. I got back into town into LA and I presented that to the producers I was working with and wrote the verses. And for me it's really like it's finding that nugget of the idea in the chorus and then the rest of the song kind of just comes.

Don't I look hypnotized or distracted at least like, "Oh, there's a spider right there." I don't know. I was in the vocal booth. I was singing and then this really cool guy, Revolving Style, who's been doing my um collage-y stuff.

I saw that, yeah.

Yeah, yeah. I asked him to do a little something something and he made it look fresh.

Do you see that comment towards the middle of the screen? "Love how carefree you are. Natural. The real. Rare. There's hope for this generation." So how do you feel when you get comments like that?

That's very encouraging. It really is. Cuz it's scary to be the real you. And I think, you know, there's all sorts of levels that being the real you, scary on um just on the expressing yourself creatively level. Expectations of being a woman, you know, all of that. And I think uh the more that we encourage each other and lift each other up for when you do take the risk to do that and that's acknowledged, the more people will do it.

Okay, so that's me in the Maasai in Kenya. It's interesting how their trees work because the giraffes will eat the berries off of the tree, stroll along, poop, and then a tree grows up from where they poop the seeds.

That's a giraffe tree. I don't know why I gave that a biology lesson.

Well, that's so cool. I never would have known that if you didn't tell me. Yeah, yeah. Any Facebook, anybody have any any questions? Oh, we do have a ton. Okay, Carolina. She wants to know are you willing to do a world tour?

I'm so very willing.

You've done a big tour before when you were, when you were doing uh, "Hello, My Name Is."

Mhm.

So, is there a difference? I, I feel like I've seen a lot of like pop-up cool events that you're doing here locally in Los Angeles.

Yeah, yeah. I did a show in Echo Park. Um and that was so fun. Lots of friends and family turned up. And the coolest thing was like everybody singing along to Atlantis. That was blowing my mind. And also some people singing along to "Do You Miss Me At All." There were some people who even were singing bits of songs that had never been released before because they'd tracked them down through videos. So yeah, that's like, that's the cool new thing about touring now, like people know the music.
