Are there producers in that are they they nervous that the secret is going to get out? On this Young Hollywood couch today?

Brent Sexton Makes

Um, I think uh

Young Hollywood

Hey everyone, Nikki Novak here in the Young Hollywood studio with the star of The Killing, Brent Sexton. Hi, how's it going? Okay. Well, I really wanted to ask you, who killed Rosie Larson? Well, we know you know the answer.

Brent Sexton Makes

I do know the answer. Yes. Yes.

Young Hollywood

And for those of you who do not know the show. The first of all, The Killing has such a such a massive following and people are so dedicated because it is so suspenseful. It's so heart-wrenching. You play the father, Stan Larson of Rosie, who was murdered, 17 years old. And all kinds of great things have happened. But basically, we're in season two now and we do know we are going to find out. Yes, we find out at the end of the season. Yes, we find out at the end of the season. When did you actually find out?

Brent Sexton Makes

I found out at the table read for that episode.

Young Hollywood

Oh, so you didn't even know before that?

Brent Sexton Makes

No. I kind of made a guess. I was about 85% uh right.

Young Hollywood

How can you be 85% right? You either get it right or you don't. Because the writers because the writers are that good. So, is that kind of a hint maybe, Brent? Are there producers in that are they they nervous that the secret is going to get out on this Young Hollywood couch today?

Brent Sexton Makes

Uh, no, not not here. I'm I'm a rock.

Young Hollywood

So, after, I mean, after this season, do you think there's It is possible there can be another season. I mean, even though they reveal do you do you have any sort of thoughts about that or ideas?

Brent Sexton Makes

Um, I think we've seen little pieces along the way. Um, someone taking pictures, for instance. Um, in one episode uh uh Sarah Linden, the detective played by Mireille Enos. She's amazing.

Young Hollywood

She is terrific, isn't she?

Brent Sexton Makes

She um she finds this uh drawing, this picture on the refrigerator and she doesn't know how it got there. So, there's little things like that that I think they may be hinting towards. I know. From her past, possibly that uh would take place in season.

Young Hollywood

But now if your storyline is is sort of, you know, the the killer's been revealed, will you be taken forward?

Brent Sexton Makes

You know, they haven't said yet. Um I kind of think that, you know, it's a new crime. They probably not. I mean, once you sort of have that closure for the family, I don't know how you dramatize keeping them around.

Young Hollywood

So if you're not, are you going to do a comedy after this?

Brent Sexton Makes

God, wouldn't that be great? Wouldn't that be perfect? Yeah, that would just yeah.

Young Hollywood

So I know you had been on Deadwood before the show, you had done a lot of TV, and then I heard that when you actually read the script, you sort of had a sense that you were going to get it.

Brent Sexton Makes

I knew I was going to get this, yeah.

Young Hollywood

How?

Brent Sexton Makes

Uh I had told the agent that pilot season that, uh, I said no more uniforms. It's it's really easy for people to kind of put me as the cop or that sort of thing and I just kind of got tired of doing that. So I said no more uniforms and I turned down anything that came in like that and uh when I enforced that boundary, of course, The Killing showed up and I read what the audition was, uh, like four scenes and an improvisation and I wrote back to the agent on the email. He said, I own this part.

Young Hollywood

So, are you ready for a little word association game?

Brent Sexton Makes

Oh, good God. I'm pre-caffeine.

Young Hollywood

Okay. First thing that comes to your mind, Brent, when I say the following. Trunk of a car.

Brent Sexton Makes

Brent Sexton Makes

Butterflies. Uh, are free to fly.

Young Hollywood

Backpack.

Brent Sexton Makes

Backpack. Jetpack.

Young Hollywood

Who killed Rosie Larson? Right. You're like a rock, Brent. You're unshakeable.

Brent Sexton Makes

It's it's the pre-caffeine, I think. There's nothing that I can do.

Young Hollywood

Well, thank you so much for coming in.
