A Star-Studded Rally for Velvet Pancakes

Welcome to Young Hollywood. What's up, guys? Leslie Robbins here for Young Hollywood, coming to you from Kitson on Robertson where I've got big stars at the launch of Red Velvet Pancakes. All right, I'm here with Alycia Doux Coux and the Red Velvet Pancakes. How did you get involved with the Red Velvet Pancake?

Jody is just my sister girl. She is not just sweet with all of this. She is like the sweetest person through and through. I think she can recognize like a true fan, you know, like I'm not one of the Hollywood people. It's like, oh, I'll have one bite. I get into my food and I get into my breakfast, and I love my sweets. So, Red Velvet Pancake mix, I was one of the first to try the recipe at the at the restaurant. Then I was working on my show. She made like these Red Velvet Pancake cakes and brought them down to the set. We hooked up my entire crew with like just insane amounts of food, and I mean, what's better than than this mix that now we can make at home?

I see you brought your boyfriend, Rick Fox. Tell me an ideal breakfast in your house.

Um, well, I'll be truthful. It would probably be him making it because I'm not a very good cook. We usually eat out a lot because I don't cook very much or he can cook, he whips things up that are that are pretty impressive. He makes some mean French toast, and after like, these are our cheat day pancakes. We go in and cheat and they have all the sugar here, but he makes an Ezekiel bread French toast that's like it's kind of guilt-free and we do like a, you know, we do natural maple syrup, and so it doesn't it's not as as naughty.

How about breakfast in bed? Ever?

Sometimes. You know how couples do.

So, I was talking to Alycia about your breakfast dates at Griddle Cafe. Tell me about it.

They they're heavenly. Uh, you know, we live really close to the Griddle also. Uh, and we also have uh a speed dial to the front desk. We literally think ahead. Like, okay, next Sunday, uh, you know, we'd go every day if if we could, but you know, we're not in town every day, but we I I just love it. It's it's my my breakfast uh spot in town. I learned a few things in the kitchen breakfast-wise. Uh I have a Ezekiel French toast that I make.

I got to tell you, your woman gave your French toast like an A+.

She did? I think it's it's it's sometimes I sometimes I make them in the bear. So sometimes uh I present them in the bedroom in the bear. So that that might be where the A+ is coming in to it, you know, extra added, you know, presentation. It's all in the presentation.

All right, I'm with David Cook, American Idol winner. And we have a winner here behind us for breakfast, Red Velvet Pancakes. Very nice. That was clever. I like that. They are good. I've had them. All right. So, we're talking breakfast. What's your ideal breakfast?

I'm uh I'm really into any kind of breakfast. I don't know. I could eat breakfast three meals a day. So, eggs, cereal, pancakes, waffles, crepes. I can go all day.

So, what brings you out here tonight? Have you been to the Griddle Cafe?

I have been to the Griddle Cafe. Actually, uh I went with my family uh not long after I moved out here and uh and Jody, the owner was was kind enough to kind of hook us up. And so, uh I've made it a point since then to try to frequent it as much as possible and

And so, living in Hollywood for three years now since your big win, what do you think of the town?

Um, I love it, man. There's always something to do, which is great. I I think um it's uh it's definitely a far cry from back home in the Midwest, but uh um I'm enjoying it. I'm finding my niche, which is good.

Michelle Branch here, and we're talking Red Velvet Pancakes. What is not to love about Red Velvet Pancakes?

I I like I'll work out for like a week ahead of time and I'll plan to have these pancakes. They're absolutely phenomenal.

Let's talk breakfast. What's your ideal breakfast?

I'm not the biggest egg person. Um, I have I have chickens. I actually have fat chickens, so we have their eggs, but I don't eat eggs a lot. So, if I'm trying to be good, I'll usually do morning stuff like oatmeal or Greek yogurt with fruit.

Did you just say you have chickens?

I do. I'm a I'm a backyard chicken farmer for their eggs. I have um I have a garden in my backyard and I have three hens and they lay these amazing organic eggs. I give them organic feed, they run around the yard, eat all our bugs, and they're amazing.

What's the upkeep with chickens?

You you give them feed once a day. You make sure they have fresh water, and they, not to be gross, they go to the bathroom on your grass, and it actually fertilizes your lawn. We have the greenest lawn we've ever had now that we have chickens.
