I am here with Bitsie Tulloch. Great to have you here.

I'm so excited to be here. And it's the first thing in the morning too.

Are you a morning person?

No. No, no, no, no, no. I was like, when my alarm went off, I was like, "Darn, no."

Are you the snooze button person?

Yes. Yes. I I snoozed a couple times and I was still hitting the snooze button while hair and makeup was already starting on me and they're like, "Can you just turn that off?"

So they came to you and did your hair and makeup in bed?

No, but like I I kept I kept pressing snooze instead of off and so it kept going off. But um, no, I'm really not, which is why Grimm is perfect for me because we shoot night shoots a lot and I've always been one of those people that's up until at least 2:00 in the morning. If I have to wake up before noon for work, I'm miserable.

I totally understand.

Pathetic.

So, I know you guys had just had your big Halloween episode and I saw something about you dressing up as a Viagra. Was that it? Was that?

Yeah, that was um, when I was shooting the show a couple years ago called Quarterlife for also for NBC, I was shooting on Halloween and I was going to my friend's big blowout Halloween party and I had no time to make a costume, but I had this blue wig left over from Lord knows what. And so I gave it to the wardrobe department and I was like, just make me something that revolves around the blue wig. And so I come back at the end of the day and they had this fabulous getup with like a little blue onesie and they had like silk screened the Viagra um, label on it. But then the best thing they did was they got a prescription bottle and went and got a bag of um, mini M&Ms and picked out all the blue ones and put them in the little prescription bottle. So I was like handing them out.

You're handing them out, getting people excited.

Yeah.

Did it work?

Yes.

Was it like the placebo effect?

I don't know. They were like clearly blue M&Ms, but it was good.

And your dog?

My dog, Henry Charles. My dog sitter's little girl, Claire, went as Katy Perry for her Halloween parade. And then when she got home, decided to dress Henry, Henry Charles up as Katy Perry. So I tweeted a picture of it. He did not look happy.

So he doesn't like being dressed.

No, he hates it.

So we have a little game for you.

Okay. I like games.

It's just sort of thoughts on maybe advice to women based on different scenarios in life.

Okay. Nothing too personal or too. I have like very little common sense though, so I don't know that

This one, the first one sort of relates a little bit to the show. Okay. Okay. Your boyfriend mysteriously needs to run errands every evening. You suspect there's more than meets the eye. Do you, okay, follow him spy style? Confront him? Let it go because you trust him or decide for every night he runs errands, you're going clubbing.

I would probably do a combination of the first two. Okay. Follow him spy style and then. And then confront him. Because if you follow him and find something, then you confront him. Or I would just confront him because like the fans all of season one were were like, "How is Juliet so patient?" And I was like, "I don't even know." Because that behavior would have lasted three days with me before I'd be like, "What the eff is going on? You're being weird."

Two, you spot some shoes on sale that you always wanted. However, they are still the price of the couch you've been thinking of buying. Do you A, buy the couch, B, buy the shoes, C, buy both, or D, decide to invest the money instead?

Oh, good Lord. This is a hard question. I would probably buy the couch.

You would?

I would buy the couch. Okay. Yeah, but the investing, that's not gonna happen. Like.

This is sort of like, is it okay to do this or not? This relates to Henry Charles and having dogs. So is it okay to dress up your dog on a regular basis?

I don't think so, um, but I also, you know, I don't I don't have a girly dog. I don't at least I don't think my French bulldog is that girly. He's kind of like macho. He has a hoodie for when it's raining 'cause otherwise he won't go outside but he hates it.

That's kinda gangster. That's okay. Is it okay to talk to your dog in baby voices?

Yeah, whatever. I do. I have a dog. I'm like, "Francy!" Hi, Francy. Yeah, you can do it. I have a voice for him. It's not a baby voice and it's too embarrassing. I can't do it. Okay. Yeah.

All right. We want to guess it.

He has he has his own special language. Um, and they understand. Yeah, he understands.

Okay, is it okay to take your dog everywhere including dinner?

I guess fine if you're in Portland, right? Well, the only place he's not allowed in Portland is restaurants, but he goes in with me everywhere. He's allowed in like the grocery store. He goes into Rite Aid with me and they're like, "Oh, Henry." He goes to work with me. He's always in my trailer. The dog is with me all the time. He's like my son.

Okay, and last but not least, is it okay to have your dog sleep in your bed?

He does not sleep in my bed. Uh, that was the rule when my ex-boyfriend and I got him was it was that because I was like already so obsessed with the dog, my ex was like he's not allowed in my bed. Yeah, but also he snores. And he used to have like a farting problem. So there were like a couple reasons besides the boyfriend why Henry was not gonna sleep in bed with me.

So let's talk about shooting in Portland and the show. So this season, there's a little amnesia happening. It's like license to cheat. It's fantastic. It's like if you don't remember your boyfriend.

I um, I haven't seen the episode that aired last night, but it was the first one where Juliet and Captain Renard kissed and the fans were like, either I saw it. You did. Yeah. I don't know that it's license to cheat, but the reality is, uh, I literally can't remember anything about him. It's which it's really sad. It's kind of heartbreaking. When I first heartbreaking when I first read the script, I was like, this is really, really, really sad that like there's just a chunk of her memory missing. Really in real life. What would happen if you woke up one day, you didn't remember your boyfriend, really didn't like him. He just wasn't there for you anymore. What would you do?

I think he would.

I don't know, but the reality is like I kind of, I mean, listen, it's David Giuntoli. He's like an incredibly handsome. Yeah, he's not as chat. Like, you know, she's still kind of like, all right, I guess I'll live in the same house with him. You're not sleeping in bed with me, but you can be downstairs on the couch and then you know it at night she's just like peering around the corner, like looking at him sleeping all sexily.

So I've had a really interesting, you actually went to Harvard.

Mm-hm.

And never intended to become an actor.

No. No, it's just one of those weird things. It was never my intention. I was gonna go get an MFA and do something with art. And I moved out to LA 'cause I was I had a really I burned out in my senior year and I just needed a year off from academics. And I ended up in LA and the rest is history. I never acted before. And I started training and I was like, this is awesome and really terrifying. Feeling like so unsure. There was something that was sort of intoxicating about that. And I was terrible at first. I mean, I remember I went into an audition for like some Hallmark movie of the week. And I had no idea how they worked and I did the whole audition into camera. So the casting director is sitting off here and you're obviously supposed to engage with the person. And I was talking to and I was talking responding to the camera. And then um, and the casting director let it go on for a minute before she stopped me and was like, "So, can you like maybe engage with me?"

So I know there's a charity you're involved in, Corazon de Vida.

Oh, Corazon de Vida, yeah.

Corazon de Vida.

I haven't been able to do it since I've been in Portland because most of the buses leave from Orange County or LA. But for six years I was doing it and once a month they send buses down to Tijuana. They sponsor 14 orphanages in TJ. And you bring supplies and it's really an amazing way for people who aren't volunteering or like the whole idea of it maybe seems a little intimidating, like, oh it's too much pressure or I don't have that much time. It's a day trip. And you get up early in the morning. That's the only bad thing about it. To get up really early in the morning. And then you take a bus down and you basically deliver supplies and hang out with the kids all day long. And then you go back to LA and it's done and it's just amazing.

And you speak Spanish, which you got to show off in one of the episodes.

I did in Layorona, the Halloween episode. Juliet is brought in as a translator. Cuz I grew up in Spain, Uruguay and Argentina, so.

Right.

But I heard that your mom flew you to San Diego to be born because you're like a ninth generation. Ninth generation San Diego native. And she wanted you to be born in.

Yes. And my baby was born in Guatemala with my older sister and they also flew in, had her born and then they were in Guatemala like three days later.

Oh my gosh. Your mom's a trooper. Yeah. Well, thank you so much for coming in.
