Hi, I'm Phil Kogan from The Amazing Race. Please don't flick away.
Yeah, believe me, you don't want to. Phil doesn't take it very nicely.
Yeah, I don't, do I?
Phil Cogan. Thanks for stopping in, mate.
Well, yes. I I'm a little surprised by this set up you got here. It's It's for you. It's much more than I expected.
Well, that's great then. We like to impress people. Yeah. What a great idea. Look at you, you beautiful thing.
I you're you talking to me?
No, I mean, uh Georgie.
Yeah, well, yes, and and and yeah. Wow, Georgie. She's very, very, very beautiful.
Wow. And you're very handsome, Phil.
Well, thank you.
You're clean shaven, we were just discussing it. Yeah, and you've got the Don Johnson thing going on. You know, it works. And your teeth are pretty close to perfect, too. You've had some work done on them.
They're not mine, yet.
Yeah, okay. Amazing Race. Yes. Season. What is it? I have. It's an amazing show. When When did you start watching it? Um, I'm being honest. I'm being honest. I've obviously, I've seen seasons in and out.
You've never seen the entire show?
I have seen the entire show.
Tell me an entire season, then. You'll be lying.
Yeah. No, but I'm being honest.
You've never watched an entire show.
I have seen the entire show.
Tell me an entire season, then. You'll be lying.
Yeah. No, but I'm being honest. Have you ever watched an entire episode?
Yes, I've watched an entire episode.
You've never watched an entire season?
Never watched an entire season.
I flick, I flicked through it, you know. I'm being honest. Through the show? No. Do you have any idea how hard we work on the show? We just flick. Feel. Imagine if we just said that if you're watching right now, feel Feel free to just flick through this show because He's a flicker. He just flicks right.
I'm honest.
Just go ahead. Go ahead, flick away. Flick away.
I'm honest. I'm honest, I'm an honest man. You won't find many people like me in Hollywood. I'm honest.
You were on The Amazing Race. That had you flick it. You saw me and flicked away?
No, I saw you and I stayed.
Yeah, you stayed. But what made you flick away? How could you flick away from The Amazing Race? You you misinterpret what I say. I I feel I'm here on false pretenses. I was told I was told, come in and talk about The Amazing Race because I I heard that Oliver was a fan of The Amazing Race. Now I find you're a flicker. Honesty doesn't work in Hollywood, Phil. I've seen every season, season 21. What were you thinking?
Yeah, what was I thinking? What was I thinking? Season 21. All right, yes. Season 21. Can you believe that?
I can't believe it. That's older than you are.
That is Thank you, mate. Yeah. Very interesting season. You got the Chippendales on it. Very interesting. Kind of show that you could never flick away from it. It's one of those shows It just grabs you and holds you and you just You can't turn away. Um unless you're English. Um no, but there's a lot of people that are watching the show, love the show. But variation in contestants. Yes, and that's the that's the key to the race, you know, this season, the Chippendales, um the goat farmers. We knew we had to have the goat farmers when they came in to audition and they said that they were on Wall Street, they lost their jobs, they went to the goat farm and they suddenly found themselves surrounded by goats and, you know, goats make love and make other little goats. And so there was a goat that was giving birth to a goat. And they're from Wall Street, they didn't know anything about giving birth to goats. And anyway, the goat needed some help giving birth. So, uh they were describing how they had one hand attached to a certain part of the anatomy of a of a goat. And the other hand was holding on to an iPhone uh with, you know, logged on to YouTube, how to, you know, give birth to a goat. So, they were kind of looking at the iPhone going, "Oh, that's how you do it." Okay, and then they helped give birth to the goat.
From Wall Street to goats. That's impressive.
From Wall Street to goats. And and uh they've been fantastic on the show. The Chip the Chippendales, a little bit of eye candy, which everybody loves.
Was that a choice of yours?
Uh, it was not my choice, but they came in. They, you know, they really uh, you know, captured. They're good looking men. I've seen them. They're good looking guys, great physique.
Why we're getting on well, I've got a quiz. Oh, okay. Um, just watch out because I I can turn quizzes, you see.
I'm sure you could.
Unto you and then I'll
I'm sure you could.
Amazing thoughts with Phil Cogan. Oh, yeah. Like how we did that? Yeah, very nice. Amazing, Amazing Race, very smart here. We once said that the three the three things you would take on a desert island are your wife, a DVD player, and a personal chef, which, when I heard, I thought, "What about your daughter?" It's a bit a bit sad, really, but anyway, Young Hollywood is more restrictive. You can only now take one. Wow. What would it be? One thing. One thing. Be careful. I've seen marriages end on this.
I would take uh uh, wow, I I think I would take um Planet Earth. With me.
Good answer. See? What's the most amazing city or country you've been to?
Ah, well, you know, I'm from New Zealand, so I, you know, anybody from New Zealand is expecting me to say that New Zealand is the most amazing place. And I think that New Zealand is incredible. But if if I had to go to one place, be in one place only and stay there forever for the rest of my life, I would probably pick Italy. Oh. I love the food, I love the culture, I love the history, I love the landscape, I love the lifestyle. Um, what's not to like about Italy?
I would I'll be with you on that, actually. You have the power to choose any two people to compete in The Amazing Race. Oh. Who are they?
Me and Georgie would be good, wouldn't we? I think Obama and Romney would be a great combination. Don't you think?
That would be great. Don't you think that'd be great?
I'm sorry, guys, you must get on. That'd be great. Let's try and do that. Romney and Obama, I'm pleased to tell you that you're team number one.
If you yourself were competing in The Amazing Race, who would your partner be?
I'd go with my dad. Strong. Yeah, no, I love my dad. I I um I get on really well with my dad. I've done a lot of uh adventures with my dad. I've been across America with him a number of times. When I rode across America on my bicycle, he supported me, he was there for me. He's super smart and uh he He and I just get on really well. So I think it'd be my dad. He's he's uh he used to play rugby, he was a great rugby player, a great coach.
Right. Yeah. I I'd probably pick my dad too if it was The Amazing Season The Amazing Race for pubs. We'd nail it. We'd be in every pub with my dad, it'd be brilliant. The book you wrote is being turned into a film. Who's playing you?
Oh, boy. Uh, I love Ewan McGregor. Do you think that'd work? But, you know, If I had a shave.
Yeah, you would you look, you've got a little Ewan McGregor going on. I'm meant you.
Yeah, I know. I'm just saying.
Yeah, okay. Thanks. We're really getting along. This is brilliant. Talking about turning the corner. This is amazing. Yeah, Ewan McGregor's great. He's been here. Yes. Isn't he? Did he swear did he sit here or there?
Right where you are.
Right where you are. You probably feel the warm.
Yeah, I can feel the.
You can feel Ewan right underneath you. Most amazing thing about YouTube videos.
Ah. Just the it's it's just that it my dad the other day my dad said, "What's this whole YouTube thing?" And um I said, "Dad, tell me some event that is you know, foremost in your mind," because my dad is a walking encyclopedia of sport. I said, "Tell me any sport, any time, any year that you want to watch right now." And he said, "19 76, John Walker winning the 1500 meters at the Olympic Games." You you put it in. Boom, there it is. And my dad was like, "Wow." That was great. To me, this is the best thing is that you could be talking about some commercial that you used to watch when you were a kid, pfft. Boom, there it is. Instant. Instant sort of thing.
I'll be catching up on all my amazing races. Yeah. after this. Next time I see you, I'll be a walking encyclopedia for The Amazing Race, I promise you. I I think what I'm going to do when I leave here, just, you know, like I said, I feel like I came here on false pretenses because I was told you're such a huge fan. But what I think I'm going to do, because I I have I have friends. I have people. I know I know people. And I'm going to have you killed. tied down to a chair. Might be the first time. Forced to watch an entire season of Amazing Race back to back. Should we do that on camera? Can we make an episode? I'll be forced to drink beer. So you want to pee so badly by episode nine.
Wouldn't be a problem for me.
And and you still got three episodes to go and then we're going to I wet myself all the time, Phil.
It just sounds like a Friday night to me. The only difference is the TV's on.
