What's up? Tatiana here at the Young Hollywood Studios with Jackson Rathbone, the very talented. How are you?
I'm good. How are you doing?
I'm good. So many people know you as a vampire from this very small series called Twilight. I don't know if you've heard of it. And you actually do a lot of stuff, and we're going to kind of talk everybody through it. Most importantly right now, your movie, The Last Airbender. You want to tell us a little bit about that?
Well, The Last Airbender is coming out. It's a very action-packed fantasy film directed by M. Night Shyamalan, put out there by Paramount in a joint venture with Nickelodeon. It's based off the original Nickelodeon animated series. I think everybody's going to love it. It's got some amazing special effects, and it's just an incredible action film, so I think it's going to be fun for the whole family.
So tell us the premise of the movie for those of us who really don't know.
Well, basically, The Last Airbender is a, it's a movie about a world torn apart by war, and I play a young warrior named Sokka who, along with his little sister from the Southern Water Tribe, we discover the long lost Avatar, Aang, who has been trapped in the ice for about a decade. We free him from the ice, and we go on a mission to save the world from the Fire Nation.
You think it's going to be a big hit?
I hope so. I do. I do.
I heard something else that I think is going to be a big hit is your action figure. I heard you're getting an action figure. How do you feel about that?
I don't know how to feel about that. Have you seen it?
No.
No, not in real life. I haven't held it yet. I've seen the Jasper action figure. And that was weird enough. I got, it kind of feels like there's a little voodoo doll of me out there. It's kind of crazy.
It is, as long as it's not like, you know, the Jackson Rathbone action figure, you know. That that would be weird. If it's a character I play, I guess that's all right. That's fine. So, I would get killed by the Twilight fans if I didn't ask you a few Twilight questions. We got to go there. So, your movie, The Eclipse, it opens same weekend as I mean, that's a pretty big weekend for you.
It is.
As the Last Airbender. Yeah. What do you I mean, is there one that you're rooting for in particular, or are they just both equally loved?
I think they're both equally loved. It's one of those things, you know, I'm I'm lucky enough to be in two films right now that are coming out, you know, worldwide, so it's fun. It's fun. It's really blessed.
So, definitely a big summer. We've mentioned two movie openings, but then there's also something really cool happening this summer. Your first, your album's going to drop.
Yes.
Music is actually one of your hugest passions.
It is. It is. I've been playing music as long as I've been acting.
So, I heard that you don't go anywhere without your guitar.
It's true. It's true.
Is your guitar here with you today?
It is.
Do you want to kind of like play something? Play a little song? A little something. A little something.
If I go for my cough, I'll hop love cigarette. Tomorrow will be violent, so do not drink and forget. Stand up on the tables, kick over the chairs. Drink till you are unable to walk back down the stairs. Tequila for Greepa, Jen for all the jems. Whiskey for the risky men who take down governments. Scotch to keep it on the rocks and wine for those who do. Visible cheers and drown in tears that another round will do. Another vodka for my cough before bed when I get home. Alone under sheets and dreams I'm a filthy cockroach. I've lived through revolution and I've lived through many wars. I'll live and in my offspring we'll live through many more. There ain't no grand solution. Just a cockroach revolution. You better have a strong constitution. Here comes that cockroach revolution. One last vodka for my cough before bed when I get home. Alone under sheets and dreams I'm a filthy cockroach. I've lived through revolution, and I've lived through many wars. I'll live, and then my offspring will live through many more. There ain't no grand solution. Just a cockroach revolution. You better have a strong constitution. Here comes that cockroach revolution. So tequila for Greepa. Jimmy for all the gems. Whiskey for the risky men who take down governments. Scotch to keep it on the rocks, and wine for those who do. Visible cheers and drowning tears, and another round will do.
