Nikki, I'm back here in the Young Hollywood studio with superstar wrestler and rockstar Chris Jericho!

Oh. That almost sounds like you were singing like in church or something.

Here we are with Chris Jericho.

It was really supposed to sound like the wrestling arena.

You mean it was always going to be the same.

Oh! Okay, well well like if you're like you need the microphone and a little bit of echo, so you're like, here I am sitting next to WWE superstar and rockstar, Chris Jericho!

And I missed the six-time world champion. Oh I didn't even think about that either. You're a six-time was that has it been that many?

It has.

That's good. I guess that makes that's pretty good.

Over 30 titles. That means I've won 30 matches over my career because I'm a bad guy so I usually always lose.

Because you are the king of pain and I mean inflicting pain. Oh my goodness. We we have a quiz for you about pleasure. So what is the opposite of pain?

Oh, thank you.

A little interesting dichotomy. Yes. How would you define pleasure? What gives you the most pleasure in life?

I think probably just hanging out with my kids is always a lot of fun, mentally pleasing.

How many kids do you have?

Three. Physically pleasing? I think giving people pain. No, yeah, most of the time, I'm the one who's getting it inflicted upon, cuz I'm a bad guy remember, so. Actually, you know what I really like? If uh somebody rubs the back of my head like, you know, right back there, you know, if a if like a girl does that. That's really like it's like not nothing major but that always just makes me really relaxed. I'm like a like a kitten when you rub its neck or something like that.

What song gives you the most pleasure to perform?

We have a song called enemy that people really like. They always uh they always dig it. And another one called God Puns His Nails. Those are that's a very good uh crowd participation like song.

And what guilty pleasure could you not live without?

Listening to uh early nineties rap.

Like who?

MC Hammer. Gerado was my favorite favorite. Rico Suave.

Rico Suave. I thought that was just a myth.

He actually rhymed more so with Torso. I was like that is the most that's genius. I will love this this this song forever.

And what victory in your career has given you the most pleasure?

Uh, probably uh winning the World title from Shawn Michaels in 2008 in a ladder match.

You're sort of known to be the bad guy. Yeah. Congratulations on your big win.

You need to enjoy them while you can, Punk you see. You can smirk if you want to, but I see straight through you. You know, you're playing a character, right? Like wrestling is show business. I couldn't be the biggest guy physically, but I'll be the biggest personality. The best bad guys of all time end up being good guys. Like Darth Vader. Right. Hannibal Lecter. You know, Anthony Hopkins doesn't really walk down the street in a straight jacket eating liver with a fine clam. That's just the role that he's playing.

Oh, no. The walls are locked in. This is a submission maneuver. That's not good for Kofi Kingston. So, the progression of the sport, the progression of wrestling. I mean, you started out in the nineties. Like you said you've had such a long career. Talk to me about like the progression of the sport because now, you know, there's like the new YouTube channel. Fan nation.

Wrestling always goes through phases. I guess is is how you can describe it. I started my career um early on overseas. I did a lot of work in Japan, Mexico, Germany. I lived there, you know, for for years and years and years. Every country has its own different style of the way they like to wrestle or the fans. Life experience, you know, living in Japan, learning how to speak Spanish.

you must have crazy travel stories.

Being held at gunpoint in Mexico. Being attacked by the Yakuza in Japan.

Why would people mess with you?

I I guess they're just are crazier than me, I guess, maybe it was. But but anyways, that helped me in wrestling to constantly change and uh evolve. You know, I always called myself like the Madonna of wrestling.

I never saw you wear lace though.

I didn't wear lace. I'm wearing lace right now though. I just don't wear it I don't wear it uh on the show, just in private. So I got this jacket made. That's I wish I had it here. I wish I wore it all the time.

I really wish you did too. I would have stolen.

But it's got all these like flashing lights that are on and off and and the guy who made it, he makes all Justin Bieber stuff, all of Alicia Keys, Dave Lee Roth. And I just had this idea what if you put lights on it, like flashing, blinking lights. He's like, well, that'd be interesting. So I have this flashing, blinking lit up jacket with all these studs and it looks like either the coolest thing you've ever seen or the most garish, most annoying thing you've ever seen.

It's very sounds very Gaga.

It's very Gaga. Exactly, very Gaga.

Ask. When you enter the arena, what is the feeling like for you?

Well, I mean, it's it's show business like itself. So whether it's with WWE or whether it's with Fozzy or whether it's with Dancing with the Stars. I mean, when the when the when it's time to go, when it's time to make the donuts, you just got to go and commit and do it. It's the best feeling in the world to be out there live. And I think that's one of the reasons maybe why Rock came back to wrestling for a little bit because when you do like a movie, you do a take, you stop, you do a take, and then maybe six months later people watch it. They watch it. Live. It's There's nothing like that energy. It's nothing.

And speaking of which, your band, Fozzy and being on the road and being on stage, what's up with the music?

We signed a record deal with Century Media, which is our biggest label, major label debut. That'll be having us do our first official real US tour because we do most of our stuff overseas right now. Yeah. So we're excited. It's just everything is like, you know, I've been playing in bands longer than I've been wrestling. I started playing in bands when I was 12.

You have some hilarious tweets. There was one about Katy Perry. It was something like, because you have like an insane amount of followers. It's like almost a million or something like that. You said something like 15 more million to go and I'll be like Katy Perry.

Yeah, I think I just passed like 800,000 or something like that. And like I literally looked up how many she had and put it in a calculator and then minus my followers from that. And then I saw Mike Tyson tweeted a picture of you you with his daughter.

Yeah.

One of the craziest moments I ever had in wrestling is is uh I was in the ring with Mike Tyson. We were tag team and then he turned on me and knocked me out. And obviously, he didn't really knock me out but uh he came through with the with the Hollywood punch and and it was so close I could feel the wind. Oh. You know, what if he's mad? What if he's drunk? What if he What if he misses? I don't know. What if he just decides he wants to knock me out? I'm standing here. But it went so good, but I was so terrified.

Do you have any like backstage rituals?

I used to do a lot of stretching before, but now since I do yoga all the time, I don't even do stretching.

Yes, tell us about that.

A friend of mine turned me onto this yoga he invented, called DDP Yoga. His name is DDP, Diamond Dallas Page, ex-wrestler. Someday I'll come back in my light up jacket and my lace and I will do yoga poses. And you'll like we'll be behind your head. But just as you're interviewing somebody else, like if you're like I saw you'd be interviewing Kesha and I'll be in the background doing yoga poses for no apparent reason.
