Hey, I'm Luke Evans. Stay tuned. We're going to show you our fangs. We, we
What are you doing with cops? So great to have you here. I have something that I've prepared for you in the spirit of fast and furious. It's a cushion.
Oh no. Oh. How did I get prepared? Whoa. Putting my driving gloves on for you. Oh, look at that. Yeah.
Wow, look at that. Look at that. You can fight, you can drive, you can
I'm ready to fight. I can. Your knuckles will be warm.
Well, I saw the film last night and let me tell you, this is how I felt after I saw it. Never seen this before. You're a theater trained actor. I mean, did you ever see yourself in a role like this sort of in such a blockbuster type film?
Only in my dreams. I was doing my first theater job the year that the first fast and furious came out.
I think you said you're getting your driver's license. No, that's
Should I tell you that story? It's very embarrassing.
Yes, please.
I only I only passed my driving test four years ago.
Oh really?
I've just said that on this program. Oh no.
You're turning red. Really, a by choice though of course.
Well, I I I was coming out to this place. When you live in London, you have to understand that London is easy to get around by public transport, bike or you walk. I know. By tube. So I was coming out to Los Angeles. If you don't drive, you know, you don't you can't do anything. You can't move. You can't you're stuck in your hotel or you're stuck in wherever you're living and and I like my freedom so I went home and I did this crash course. The first time I got in a car and drove it was actually I was driving on the opposite side of the road. So uh
So I know you had said like the first day you arrived on set, I think that you were like handcuffed it was the scene where you were like handcuffed. And this team, they've been together for so long. And you're the newbi and you're playing the bad guy. How was sort of that welcome when you walk in and you're handcuffed and you're saying hi to Vin Diesel and you're saying hi to everyone.
Exactly. I didn't get to say hi to them. That was the whole point. It was as often on big big movies, you know, you sometimes do the final scene right at the beginning of the film. Of course you do. Which means you have to really or the love scene, you have to snug somebody or like, you know, dry hump somebody, you know, on that first day, you've not even met them or drinks with them. Believe me, yeah, it's something breaks. I'm not sure where is the ice. Uh but you know, that's what you do and this scene was the first scene I did and it's when I'm handcuffed and and brought in front of the whole team who I've only seen at this point in the movie. I've never seen them in the flesh.
Wow.
And they said right, we need to rehearse this, we need to set it because we need to get the lights done. And meet Gina Carano who um
Who could kick anybody's ass.
kick anybody's ass and we have to kiss. It didn't actually finally make the final cut, but I'll tell you we had to kiss in the scene we've never met. It was like, this is my second film and I was like cool and she's like, so um we're going to kiss right and I'm like, yeah yeah yeah. She had never done that before and I was like, that's fine. I said, I've done it loads. It's fine. Let me show you how it's done. I'm off the screen. Somebody do something. I got to take on my ass.
So from here, I know you have a ton of films. It seems like people pick choose you for iconic roles. Like I know you've played Zeus. You've played two gods before. You're going to play you're going off to play you do the Hobbit after this. That's right. Dracula. That's right. I have fangs. You didn't have you've seen my fangs, right? No. I have. So do I. Look. Yeah. Yeah. So you're honest. You'll tell the girl I have fangs. Yeah, she's got little fangs. I think my fangs are bigger than yours. So wait, are they going to they're not going to need to do process?
Well I I I I was hoping they were going to like add a, you know, a few more dollars to my to my wage and then cuz they I'm saving them so much money.
So much money. So much money on prosthetics, yeah. Okay, before we let you go, we have a game for you. It's called What Makes Luke Fast and Furious. So we're going to give you either or situations and you tell me what either makes you faster or more furious, okay? So, first one is, you ready?
Yeah.
It's going to hug the pillow and get comfy, okay? Which are you running faster for? Half price tickets to a Rolling Stones concert or a clearance sale at Harvey Nichols? Harvey Nichols for Americans who don't know is like Neiman Marcus.
There's no no competition. It's the Rolling Stones.
Are you a fan?
Who, anyone in their right mind wouldn't wouldn't be running for half price Rolling Stones tickets.
Okay, which of the two makes you more furious? People who don't give up their seats on the tube to the elderly and pregnant or people who press too closely against you on the tube?
Um, well, I because of that second reason, I don't use the tube. So it would probably have to be the second one.
Which would you get to faster? An all expense paid trip to Fiji or tea, we know you're Welsh but tea with the Queen.
Are you kidding? I mean, one would love to have tea with you, but one would rather be sitting on the beach in Fiji. Darling, he's got better things to do.
Okay, which makes you more furious since you travel a lot and you're a travel one. People who pass gas on a long flight continually or people who stand in front of you at the baggage carousel and then drop their bag on your toe.
The first one. I just can't believe anybody would do that on a plane. In you're in a tube. Yes. It's just the most it's a insensitive thing to do. So confined spaces are just not good for you. You can never work out who it is. Cuz they're always asleep when they do it. It's always the asleep person. And you got your ear you you your eye things on. She can't even see you're using your nose.
