This neck like you can hear that noise, but it's kind of it's kind of weird. It's like a hollow. It's my mating call, so.

Okay, I just want to first talk about, 'cause I just saw you guys at the Jingle Ball the other night. I didn't mention it when I saw you, but you were like, when you were taking photos, you were like, doing this hair flip thing. And it was looking good. You were you were like, really killing it. I looked back for a for a double take. You're more than anyone on the carpet. You were just like

I was working it. Someone asked me for like a slow-mo of it. On interviews. They're like, oh, do it. And you're like, Yeah, yeah. They're like, do the hair flip again. And then they're like, can you do a handstand? I was like, no, I can't.

Uh, when we were taking pictures in the beginning, we're just like smiling. They're like, okay, now move three inches and then like smile and they're like, they're saying the most twisted things. They're like, I love you! And we're just like, no. Like, someone was yelling at me like, don't move yet. And I was like, okay, sorry.

They will say the craziest things for you to look at them.

Yeah, they do say really crazy things. Right? Like, they'll just say things to like aggravate you or like, hey, that. And just like, it's like whatever. Look here. Some girls really nice. She was like, hey, honey, look over here. And I felt like obligated to look. She's been so nice.

How do you listen? I mean, like you just have to like, you're in all different directions. You just have to like channel in on one voice, though. There's always that one voice that you hear. And then like you look and then it's another one. Expelled. Is it like insane that you guys have just done a first movie now? I mean, you started on Vine, which is like this tiny little screen, but I mean that's you've suddenly become stars from that and YouTube. And then all of a sudden, now you're doing a movie.

Well, first I'm gonna need pizza.

Okay, why pizza? Stop. I know why pizza. Because you're gonna put Ex-Lax on the pizza, give it to the teacher. He's gonna have diarrhea and not gonna be able to show up to the meeting. What? No. You're gonna do the Imposter Pizza Delivery Guy switch, aren't you? Ben?

I'm getting pizza because I'm hungry. I feel like I didn't even know the legitimacy of doing a movie. Like I was like, okay, sick. Like, I'm doing this movie. Like it's dope. Like we got the part. And like we started filming. I'm like, okay. And then now it's just like so much press and so much hype about this movie. And I just like wasn't even prepared for it. Because we've been I've been doing social media for so long. And like, like over the last two years, like not a lot of things have been surprising me just because it's like, it's all happening to you. People are like, oh my god, Marcus, your life must be so insane right now. And you're like, when it's you, it's kind of just like, yeah, it's kind of a blur, but I mean, it's real life. You know? Whatever. But then all this like movie stuff and like, like pictures everywhere you go and like interviews and stuff. Yeah, it's like crazy. I don't know.

But I feel like it's crazy because when you do Vines, it like really is your life. You're you're doing like these crazy six-second things that are like, I mean, I assume that's just you film pretty much every crazy, funny thing that goes on, right? But then a movie, you're actually scripted.

Yeah, anyone that ever. Yeah. It's kind of interesting to go from like, or Vines or YouTube where you're you're basically directing yourself. You're producing it. You're the actor, I guess. To go from taking direction from Alex and uh, trying to portray what his vision is for the scene.

Yeah. Did you have a lot of say in that or were you kind of like, I mean, what what do you

I mean, I mean he would listen to our ideas, but for the main part, no, it was all his vision. So I mean, he would let us do he would let he would let me ad lib a lot. 'Cause I like to be silly. And he would be like, just you know, throw your Marcus pizazz in there. And then I just I'd kind of just like freak out and do my little like, you know, bend stuff. But he was really he was really open to like like working with us as well. He was like, yeah, you know, like we I think we would try to do a very normal take. A very like straight, normal take. And then he would be like, and then he's like, all right, now just go crazy on this take. And we just like do a bunch of silly stuff. And he and there are like I watched the cut and there are parts where like it was stuff that I kind of like made up on set. And then, you know, a lot of stuff that was obviously scripted. But that's like you're saying. It's like you just throw in your like comedic and it just yeah.

And then I mean the storyline, it's kind of like a fresh take on, you know, Ferris Bueller, right? So, give us like sort of like the in a nutshell.

Felix is a big prankster. And he ends up uh taking a prank too far. And ends up getting expelled. But he doesn't want his parents to find out. So he's trying to convince his parents that he's still going to school. And he goes through like all these crazy obstacles to make sure that they don't find out.

And what's like the craziest scene you probably had to film?

I was like tangled up in like this net and I was like falling over. And like I like ran into like a bunch of lockers and I was like like and like there was parts where I had to be like crawling on the ground and stuff. And my face. I literally like I came in the next day. They're like, yo, you got a huge zit overnight. I was like, no, I didn't. I just cut a ginormous scab inside of my nose because the net was like cutting my face. So I had like this huge cut here because the net kept ripping. I kept like tripping and like ripping my face. It was the nuts.

Your character Ben has the craziest scene in the whole movie. Like uh dressing up as the uh what is it? His dad?

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Exactly. Yeah. Stuff like that. Like eating a chocolate. I ate 12 chocolate cupcakes in one day.

What?

I literally I ate like I legitimately probably ate like nine whole. I ate them. Like they were like, Marcus, you can just spit them out. I'm like, no. I'm like, I'm gonna eat these cupcakes.

That was part of a scene. You were just like, I'm gonna eat.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I had to eat the cupcake. Like, you have to.

And then you guys have a little scene. I feel like your fans are all kind of like. He and Leah kissed. Yeah. All your fans are just like, oh my god, when we see that scene. I've never heard you guys talking like in front of me. All right. Let's go. Let's go.

I was talking to I was talking to you, I asked her to move. But I was talking there was there was one uh where we were like kissing in this take. And like I think she like slipped tongue in or something like that.

No, listen. No, no, no. You were the one doing that.

No, no, you did. You did. And then I was like, I know, I know. So she slips a little bit in. And like this is I'm coming from like I've never done it before. So I'm not sure like how far you take it or how long does it go. And I was like, okay, like she's going to throw in tongue. So I go to throw in tongue, right? And I go like this. And then she backs up right as I'm throwing your tongue. So it's like my tongue just in there like And I was like looking back and I was like, oh my god. Everyone thinks I'm the worst kisser. And I was like, whatever. Yeah. So there's some slippage.

And then wait, so was that like a Did you It was a mutual thing. It was a funny. How did that?

Yeah, you so you started it.

No, I don't think so. I'm pretty sure I was the one who started the tongue.

You did?

Yeah, you started the tongue.

She just said, I'm pretty sure I'm the one that started the tongue. Didn't she?

I'm out of this. She she knows what's up. Chill, bro. There was a funny part, though, um, I did a thing where like I grabbed your lip. Remember? I don't know. Oh my god. Remember when I grabbed your lip and I pulled away? Remember when I grabbed your lip and I pulled away?

And Alex was like, Cameron, lose the lip grab. And then we did another scene and uh he was like, bring back the lip grab. That was funny.

How many takes did you have to do for that?

It was like five. It was like seven. It was all just a giant blur. No one knows. We kissed back 35 times. Oh god. Yeah. The best ten minutes of my life.

Okay, so just getting back to your Vines because you guys like, how do you come up with these things? 'Cause you just like, I mean, they're six seconds, but how long does it actually take you to even do?

It just depends. If there's a moment that you see is really funny and you're like, I can just capitalize off of this and just selfie it. Like I remember I was driving, um, I was driving and then a train just started like going in front of me. Um on the way to Frisbee practice when I was at Florida State.

On the way to Frisbee.

I was on the way to I was driving on the way to Frisbee practice and I'd never saw a train on this one uh railroad before. And then all of a sudden just like went down. I was like, what the heck? There's a train coming. Like I didn't know trains even existed here. This train came and I was just like and I just like Vi myself, I was like, I've always wanted to do this. And I just like ran and jumped on a moving train. I was like, or did something.

But you jumped on a moving train?

Yeah. I had to get up. I had to get up. I jumped off, but I actually was surprised at how like, I remember jumping on I was like, and like I almost fell. And imagine had I fallen like arm chopped off for sure. Like a 12,000 pound train. Yeah. But yeah, there's moments like that.

Did you roll like you did, like they do in the movies when you jump off?

It wasn't that. It was like 15 miles an hour. So like I ran off and like jogged to a stop. You got to get off.

Yeah, 'cause I remember one night after we had filmed the movie, and I was like, Marcus makes funny Vines. So I started I scrolled through like your entire I saw all of them. I'm pretty sure I saw all of them.

Really?

Yeah. They're good. You can spend like hours looking through that. Look at that. 9. 5 out of 10. Oh. Well.

What was the first one you guys ever made? Can you remember it?

Mine was my my dog has to go to the bathroom, so I take him out. It's about a guy.

Yes.

Yeah. That's how it all started.

Mine was um, mine was I was playing a character 'cause I I was like, I when I start Vine, I want to start fresh. I never really I had some YouTube videos out there, but then I just deleted all my YouTube and I was like, all right, I'm gonna do Vine. I'm gonna like go hard at it. And when I started, I did this Vine called Grandma Betty. And it was just me saying, I'm just now getting on the Vine. And it was it was like I was making a joke about how I was late to get on Vine because it was such like a hot social media app at the time, but I had no idea that it was gonna blow up even more since then. It really blew up like the summer of '13 and I think I jumped on the train like right before. It's like in like March, April.

He likes jumping on trains. Clearly.

I do. It's my It's my passion in life.

It's your thing.

People always come up to me, especially like when like I meet people and they're like, they're like, oh my god, like like let's do a Vine. Like, can I do a Vine with you or whatever? I'm like, yeah, sure. And they come up to me and they're like, okay, but you do it since you're like, you're like the pro. And I'm like, If I had a Vine idea, I would've already done it like at this point. Like I don't know. I guess I people are like Or they'll be like, oh, you post it on your account, though. Yeah. Like Just tag me.

So I have a challenge of like if you were to get expelled, which hopefully you wouldn't, and so kids don't do this at home. Which of these things would you do that you'd want to be known for?

Farting on stuff. I feel I feel like people. Even if I farted, people would think I just went. you know.
