All right J and I, we are hanging out at the Young Hollywood Studio with Alyssa Bernal.
So you YouTube sensation.
I mean, we're at almost 100 million views.
That's insane.
Yes, it is.
What did you think when you hit number one million?
Um, I didn't realize. I mean, I I remember having like 11,000 subscribers, and then before I knew it, I looked back and it was like at 300 million. Not really, but you know it happened so fast.
Now that you've, you know, taken it to the next level, you know, Pharrell's discovered you.
I mean, you're like the real deal now.
How do you still keep doing the YouTube videos and stay true to all the fans?
I mean, I keep my flip cam in my pocket. Um, I record, you know, whatever I think would be fun to watch. Um, I think it's it's interesting for them to watch like behind the scenes, uh, day in the life of everything crazy that goes on behind the scenes on tour and um
What are some of the crazy things that have happened to you over the last few months?
Now that you're doing this tour.
I mean, for for one thing, I'm the only girl on this whole tour and it's kind of cool. I mean, most people don't know that my brother's my drummer on tour, and he takes care of me.
Keep it in the family, that's good.
Yeah.
And how funny it all comes full circle that you tried out for Idol, and and you're on tour with Kris Allen who won Idol.
Is that like crazy all just sort of coming together?
That is really crazy. I was telling him laughing the other night, I was just like, I couldn't keep a straight face and he was like, what, tell me. And I was just like, I don't know, it's funny, cuz I was I'm still a big fan of you and I I watched you on Idol, I voted for you, and I'm on tour with you now. And you're standing right here in front of me and I'm telling you this, it's surreal. He was just like, well, I hope you're still a fan of me.
So now you're saying you recorded your album in London.
Why, what made you pick London of all places?
Star Trek Records they sat me down, uh, asked me who my influence were and we narrowed it down to the producer and his name is Martin Trefy. He produced some of my influences like Jason Razz. I love James Morrison, Katie Tunstall. And um, yeah, he was our guy. Um, packed for a week, thinking I was just going to like meet the guy. Um, he was just like, you know what, um, I'll open up my schedule, relocate to London and we'll record an album.
So you've already gotten to work with a lot of amazing people.
But if you had to sort of make your wish list of here a couple people I have to collaborate with in some capacity, who would you have on it?
I don't know, something's telling me that I need to collaborate with Taylor Swift.
Like we're both That'd be a good collaboration.
Yeah, I mean we're we're the same age.
Right.
We play guitar.
When you were doing early on, you know, there were comments that weren't necessarily so positive, but you still kept going.
How did you how did you keep the drive and not give up and and take it to where it is today?
Usually, I'm a pretty, you know, sensitive person, but I have a lot of support, good support around me. My mom's like my backbone. Um, yeah, a lot of times she's just like, don't worry about it. You have you have more positive stuff and more like fans backing you up than anything. Um, like you don't have to respond to, you know, the haters and because your fans will respond for you and like, you know, that's true, so.
All right, last thing.
I want you to just look into your crystal ball, we're going to be sitting down here, two, three years from now, and and what's going to be different in your life?
Well, I want to win Grammys. I want to win Best New Artist. I want to um, I want to have a live DVD of, you know, a concert. I want people to like turquoise a lot because it's my favorite color. So they have to like it.
There you go.
We got Alyssa Bernal, future Grammy winner, who's going to have a live DVD and it's going to make sure you like turquoise.
