Michael B. Jordan

I think it's proven, right? The ability, I just know. You look like you're reading my mind right now. I mean, that's my gift right now. I can read women's minds.

Young Hollywood

I'm blushing again. What's up guys? Nikki Novac here in the Young Hollywood studio with Michael B. Jordan.

Michael B. Jordan

Oh, it's a pleasant surprise already. Props and I like your T-shirt.

Young Hollywood

I appreciate that. Very appropriate.

Michael B. Jordan

A little bit, I guess you know the whole Red Tails. The whole Red Tails chronicles.

Young Hollywood

The whole Red Tails chronicles. All right. The whole Red Tails chronicles. Okay, so are you in? You must be into like the whole flying thing now that.

Michael B. Jordan

The flying was uh that was amazing. You know, we we really wanted to you know, capture flying like like you've never seen before. So, we based it basically off of skydiving and that's kind of like the look that it has, that kind of real free falling you know, with the clouds and stuff like that.

Young Hollywood

Right. I heard like the shooting technique was the camera is like it's like you actually are doing.

Michael B. Jordan

Yeah, we were in this thing called, well, I call it the hamster wheel of death but it looks like a hamster wheel and you're like locked in the middle of it. It's just not comfortable at all.

Young Hollywood

That's how you shot it?

Michael B. Jordan

That's how we shot some of the flying scenes. So.

Young Hollywood

Okay, so what is the hamster wheel of death?

Michael B. Jordan

It's this hamster wheel and you're like, yeah, you're the hamster and you're just like locked in at the hips into this like metal like corset almost and you're just, you have free range of motion. You can do whatever you want but men specifically aren't really are anatomy doesn't agree with flying harnesses. and stuff.

Young Hollywood

Oh, the harnesses.

Michael B. Jordan

Yeah, yes, yes, yes. It's a little uncomfortable, so.

Young Hollywood

Probably a little more than for certain people.

Michael B. Jordan

Yes, yes, yes, yes, so. Just saying. You know, you know, a proud guy, you know.

Young Hollywood

I think you can get a round of applause for that one for sure. So, this movie when I saw the trailer, I was like, I got to see this movie. Because the trailer it just, you don't really it doesn't really give the movie justice. You don't really know exactly what the film is about which is kind of what we were. I was moving face with your mind. And it's all, well, it's all about telekinesis. Do you think it's possible? Because there's sort of like conflicting.

Michael B. Jordan

I think telekinesis is definitely plausible. I think if you know, certain people, I don't know, maybe born with a gift. If you just have that, you know, the extra you know, gene or something's a little off in certain areas you might have that telekinetic ability. Right. Maybe. Of course. It's proven, right? The ability such in such fashion. I just know. You look like you're reading my mind right now. I mean, that's my gift right now. I can read women's minds.

Young Hollywood

I'm blushing again. And so Red Tails. You're also in.

Michael B. Jordan

I'm also in Red Tails. play a fighter pilot.

Young Hollywood

Mm-hm.

Michael B. Jordan

One of the Tuskegee Airmen. Which was uh, it was more of a honor than anything, just to represent a part of my culture, a part of my history. Um, I felt enlightened and I'm being able to like, you know, to to shed some light on a part of history that not too many people really know about, so.

Young Hollywood

And I heard George Lucas had a really hard time getting the film made.

Michael B. Jordan

Last 25 years. You know, this is his baby project. He's been trying to do it for a while, so he finally got the right cast, the right crew, the right writer. Just, you know, everything kind of fell into place and uh, it just worked out.

Young Hollywood

So how is George?

Michael B. Jordan

George is awesome. You know, he's a Um.

Young Hollywood

Were you like on the level with George? Like, is he sort of like?

Michael B. Jordan

Uncle Luke. You know, you know. It's Luke, baby.

Young Hollywood

Were you a Star Wars fan?

Michael B. Jordan

Oh, definitely. So I definitely. Oh, George, can we see the archives before we get to work and so I definitely saw you like R2D2 and like you know Chewy and all the Stormtroopers.

Young Hollywood

Who's your favorite Star Wars character?

Michael B. Jordan

Um, I mean, Han Solo's the man, you know.

Young Hollywood

Really? You're a Han's kind of guy.

Michael B. Jordan

He's the man. He's like the witty kind of, you know, comic relief in certain areas but he's always there right on time. Oh no. Han's the man.

Young Hollywood

So, we have a little game for you. It's a superpower game.

Michael B. Jordan

I like games.

Young Hollywood

Just sort of like more of a questionnaire. Okay. And the uh, the first one is if you could have any superpower, what would it be?

Michael B. Jordan

The ability to read a woman's mind.

Young Hollywood

Oh, you just totally annihilated the second question. Why was it the second? I thought you could already read minds.

Michael B. Jordan

I'm just saying if I could really really do it, I'm a good guesser.

Young Hollywood

All right, what am I thinking? Guess. What am I thinking?

Michael B. Jordan

Um, of course, I will. Oh, he's cute.

Young Hollywood

So, the second one was, would you rather have the ability to read a woman's mind or the ability to predict the future?

Michael B. Jordan

I think I'd much rather be able to read a woman's mind with a filter. I got to have a filter. That's that's that's the clause. We just don't speak the same language. That's the problem. I can say whatever I want to say and then I can ask you, well, what exactly did you hear? And it'd be something completely different.

Young Hollywood

Okay, so I'm thinking, I'll tell you what I hear. Um, would you rather have a guy uh open your door for the first time or every time that he sees you? Like the first time like the first time you guys go out. Would you rather him open the door for the first?

Michael B. Jordan

So, here's what I just heard. Uh-huh. You want to know if you can get away with only doing it the first time. That's that's actually damn good. That's exactly that's exactly what I said. I am impressed actually right now. I'm impressed.

Young Hollywood

And the true, the real answer to that is every single time. Every single time. Okay. All right. Okay. All right. If you could go back in time, would you like to have invented and founded Apple, YouTube, or Facebook?

Michael B. Jordan

Oh, man. Oh, I think Apple. Maybe Apple. Because look at your phone.

Young Hollywood

Oh, oh, you want me to put me on blast like that. put me on blast. I heard it down face down on purpose. I had fun last night. We're calling out Apple, right?

Michael B. Jordan

I know. I think Apple.

Young Hollywood

And last, but not least, if you were to create a superhero costume, what would it look like? Oh, man. Um, What color would it be? What color would it be?

Michael B. Jordan

If I had a superhero costume, it would be like black and gray.

Young Hollywood

And what ability would you have? What ability?

Michael B. Jordan

Maybe like super speed. Like being able to like, I don't know, to go as fast as I want like Flash. I've always been fascinated with Flash. Cuz he can get away. He can move fast enough where he can actually fly, walk on water, you know, he can.

Young Hollywood

Travel time.

Michael B. Jordan

Travel time. Mm-hm. Time travel is actually a good one. That's that's a really cool power. It's a good one. But, Oh, guess what?

Young Hollywood

What's up? Oh, oh, I was almost I thought you were gonna catch. I get some swag. You get some swag because you answered. Which one? All the questions correctly or what? Was it correct answer? Well, I don't think there is any right or wrong answer. Did I hear your favorite actor is Meryl Streep?

Michael B. Jordan

Um, one of my favorites.

Young Hollywood

See, most usually guys mention guys. I love that you mentioned a woman. It's cool. She's awesome.

Michael B. Jordan

Thank you. Appreciate it. I'm take that home.

Young Hollywood

Can you turn the camera off with your mind? Uh,
