Okay, here. We're hanging out at the Young Hollywood Studio with James Macavoy. Now, I am so, so envious of you. Really? Really? Why? Why? I mean, atonement with Kira Nightly. Wanted, Angelina Jolie, No Juliet, Emily Blo.

I know, I'm a little gay. I think I attract them. A lot of the time and uh, you imagine if that was true? That might be it. So you're in the movie and then they say, oh, James Macavoy is in it. I have to, have to be in the film with him. I wish, I wish, I wish.

So, now I got to know, like, animated films, people think they're easy, you just show up, you don't have to memorize lines, you don't have to worry about how you look, no makeup.

No makeup. That's pretty much how it goes actually. Yeah. There's no challenge to it. A lot of a lot of drugs, a lot of alcohol, a lot of groupies. It's very rocking road.

I can't go. I know how you feel. No, really. I'm stuck. The thing that you do, P, is your voice, P, is man. Every time I come out of a session on one of these movies, I can barely speak. I've just spent the entire time hyperventilating and screaming at the top of my lungs. And it's funny watching people when they do it too. Did you have some funny faces? Cuz obviously you don't see it on camera, but when you're trying to get.

Well, generally I was, I don't know why this happens. I was like there's probably like, I probably see something like 3,000 words in this film. I see. But every time I went into deal recording session, I just seemed to be panting a lot and they wanted me to do breaths a lot, you know, like so my funny face consisted of my tongue hanging out of my head. What's really nice is that when you're making a movie, you don't have much time in your hands. You get this crazy, cool, Maverick idea and you think, oh great, I'll put that in and then you go, oh, I got to get the scene finished. I tell you what I won't do it. We'll just get the scene done, but on this you're doing like, you can do 30 scenes in a day and you can get them all done like that and you can do it 20 times and you can do as many different ways as you want. So it's kind of fun for an actor.

And when you first saw the Elton Giant paper, what did you hate? What you saw what it looked like?

I only saw it a week and a half ago. I didn't realize that his music was going to be in it as much as it is. And when I saw him as a gnome, I really, my initial reaction, if I'm being honest, was that just works. Some reason, Elton John sits with a gnome really, really well. He should have been a bigger character.

Isn't it bizarre though when I saw it, I'm like, that's Elton John and it makes sense. It just it just makes sense. I don't know cuz he doesn't look like a gnome in real life, but when you incarnate as a gnome, it just works. And were you critical of what you look like as a gnome?

Yeah.

Were you upset? Like not enough hair or like things were out of place?

And do they have gnomes like in Scotland? Is there such a thing as a garden gnome out there?

Yeah, they're totally there.

So it's not just an American thing.

No, no, no, I had we had two. So I always thought they looked a little bit CD. I was a bit I was a bit afraid of them actually.

Really?

Yeah, a little bit. Not afraid, but I was just a bit like, I don't know, something grody about them and.

So how did you get over your your gnome fear?

Slept with them in my bed for about four nights in a row and you know, it was it was a phobia kind of relationship therapy that that we got the government to pay for. It was a big deal.

Last thing I want to know is there's a lot of competition in the film, the red versus the blue. Yeah. Were you very competitive growing up? Was there any like a red gnome that you were against when you when you were a kid?

Oh, yeah, yeah, but it wasn't like competing for popularity or neither was popular. Um but there was one guy who was whose name I won't name, who we finally got into a fight when I was about 13 and and I was so glad we finally got the chance to fight. Uh but that was that. Uh I wasn't competitive. Uh but then when we'd start playing sports, I would get really, really competitive and I still am today.

There we go. It's all about the competition, hey? I don't really have the fitness to back up my competitive streak, but you know, I'm still.

But you got the gnome sleeping in your bed, so you're you're all good.
