What Would WWE Superstar Lana's GLOW Personality Be?

What's happening, guys? Welcome into the studio today. I'm hanging out with CJ Perry, aka Lana, WWE superstar.

That sounds so cool to say. Thank you. Thanks for having me.

Superstar. What a big like that's such a cool title to have with your name. Not many people can say that. WWE superstar.

Yes. Yeah. I'm a star.

Well, you're a star for wearing these shoes as we're discussing.

Oh, they're so painful. That in itself deserves an award. Gosh, what a price to be beautiful. But they look great.

Yeah. What a price to be ravishing. You know, they're ravishing. They look great. Just keep them right there to get it in the shot so that's really worth it. You can act, you're a performer, you're an athlete. If there was one extra thing you could add to your repertoire. What would you add?

I would be a surfer. Like a sick surfer if I could. Just like all the waves, like all the big ones.

Surfer. Have you surfed before?

Yeah, I've attempted to, and I like ride a little wave and I think I'm the coolest person in the world.

Did you feel that shot? Well, we'll have to follow along on that for sure. But in the meantime, fans are following along for season 8 of Total Divas. I can't believe season eight already. How crazy.

I know. We've been on TV for five years and eight seasons. It's insane.

Well, for those that maybe have a little bit to catch up on without giving too much away from season 8, there's of course some drama, there's some setbacks.

Yes. Yes.

So, how do you deal with setbacks? How do you deal with not getting your way in round one and facing challenges in your life?

I think you just have to resiliently keep going. Like kick doors down, punch doors down, Muchka kick doors down, which means in Bulgarian, crash doors down. Like you just you just can't take no for an answer, you know? Where there's a will, there's a way and you can you can the the human mind is so strong and if you're determined and you just don't take no for an answer. If you want it, you go after it. You see that in the season finale of I'm in um a ladder match and that's one of the hardest matches out there and I've seen clips on Instagram. It's really demanding. I had to train really hard to get there but it's just it just shows that's just one little piece of I hope to encourage people to be like keep on chasing your dreams.

Yeah. So tell me a little bit about your vision in your different personalities between reality show you and then performance you.

Well, I definitely think you see a lot more flaws in reality because I'm just I am who I am and I'm imperfect and I'm human. A big thing this season that I was able to share was that I feel like I don't fit in and I don't always feel a part and I feel like the oddball and I am who I am. And people are going to love you and there's people that are not going to like you and it's okay for not everyone to like you.

Well, and you're so brave for putting that out there. And I think that inspires.

A lot of people. And so does your personality and your character, which is so fun. Earlier this year, the studio had the cast of Glow in here, which is such a great show.

Oh, they're wonderful.

Yeah, I'm wondering if you could be on a show like Glow and have your own character. Anything you wanted to bring to life. What character would you just love to bring out into the world?

Maybe a 70s breakdancer. Oh. Yeah. Definitely. I think a 70s breakdancer. Okay. Definitely a bad guy cuz bad guys are so much fun. Like I love being a I'm right now a good guy on TV but right. Bad guys are so much fun. Yes. Yes.

Well, you have SmackDown that's coming up so soon.

Yes. Well, I have a match with my husband actually. It's an intergender match that we have and we're facing Carmella and truth for the mixed match challenge. And whoever wins that match goes to the next round.

Well, you guys are so competitive. What do you guys like do for fun?

Oh God, he plays a lot of video games, like eight hours of video games and I've been watching a lot of TV shows like Glow. Yes. That's always good. Yeah. Um, we also right now we're working on our comic book right now. So it's been a dream of mine. I'm a big comic book fan. I love comics. I've read comics my whole life.

So how did the idea come to be?

Basically inspired from our life, our relationship and WWE, we're kind of like superheroes. I would say not kind of, we are like, you know, you're super villains and superheroes and um, so he had an idea and then plus with my idea of always wanting to do a comic book. I'm like, okay, this is cool. It fits together so well. Yes. Yes.
