Hey, guys, this is Young Hollywood, and there's so much like beautifulness going on here today.
Wow. Thank you.
Two gorgeous ladies on the couch from the cast of Sierra Burgess Is a Loser. Great to see you guys.
Thank you so much. Thank you.
I think it's Well, you've been into studio, I think once. Yes. Okay, but it's your first time into studio.
First time. Yay.
Well, welcome.
Thank you.
Welcome. Welcome. How's your day going so far?
It's been great. It's been long, but it's been good. Like, we're we're having a good time. Yeah.
Well, I've loved watching the trailers for this film because I feel like just even the trailer, there were so many things I connected with. It brought me like right back to the lunchroom. Terrible place. Scary place. Scary place. Yeah. So, for you guys, when you first read the script, what really stuck out to you or connected you to the film?
I think I really just like how all the characters defy stereotypes. Like, it's so easy with teen movies to to play into like these high school tropes. But every character is unique and like complex, and I really loved that. Yeah. That's great.
What do you think?
No, exactly. That, um, we're telling, you know, you can't judge a book by its cover. We're telling the real truths that, you know, I feel like I rarely see that, that they actually they're not their stereotypes. Yeah. I love that. And I think it's kind of breaking boundaries when you're thinking of like a high school movie placed in high school setting.
I have a question for you guys in relation to high school. You only have to choose one of these questions. So, whichever one you feel most connected to. Will you share either a most embarrassing moment, a most rewarding moment, or your best advice?
Okay. Um, well, I guess like I got it. I got it. Um, I think my most rewarding moment was in my senior year of high school when I got cast in Stranger Things. Yes. Yeah. That was my first acting job, so I was really blown away.
What was everyone's reaction? Was everyone like, did people know?
Well, I mean, nobody knew what the show was or what it would be. So, they were all like, cool, you're going to be on TV. But, I mean, obviously, once the show came out, everything changed. So, I was very excited. Yeah.
Wow. And probably looking back on it, too, it's even more rewarding looking at how things started and where things are now.
Yeah, absolutely. I love that. The best advice would be super cliché, but just be true to who you are. I think I really struggled in high school. I was very shy, and I didn't really ever fit in anywhere. So, when my best friend who I met, uh, in Norway during junior year told me that that, you know, it really resonated and I tried to change my ways. Yeah.
Well, I think it's so easy too in high school, especially now with social media, to feel down or to compare yourself to others. So, what do you tell yourself when you're feeling down or you've had a bad day?
Yeah, I mean, specifically when I'm feeling like the pressure to compare myself to others or like dealing with self-doubt, I always try to remind myself that, like, my journey isn't anybody else's. And, you know, my life has been difficult but very beautiful so far. And I have faith that it will, you know, continue to get better. Yeah. So, yeah, so I just I just try to remind myself that, you know, somebody else's light shining doesn't make mine any dimmer.
Exactly. I love that. Love that. That's so great. Yeah. Do you have anything you want to add?
No, yeah, kind of the same. Just my job. She said it.
Oh, well, this movie looks like it's so much fun. And you guys are all connected so well. Do you have a favorite behind-the-scenes moment during filming or maybe something that really surprised you about filming? Did you guys have any fun pizza parties?
I would love to have had a pizza party. More pizza parties. I know, we should have had more pizza parties is what I'm taking away from this. Yeah, more sushi nights. Um, yeah. Oh. We did have good sushi nights. That sounds much fancier than a pizza party. It was just every It was just so much fun. All of it. Yeah. Like, every day was was fun. RJ and yeah, everyone. I don't know, it's really hard to pick one moment, you know? Yeah. Yeah. I think we all just got along so well that it it felt very natural and it like It didn't feel like work. No. It was just enjoying every second. Yeah. I'm really great time. Yeah. I feel like not every film's like that. So,
No, no.
Definitely not. We got lucky. It's a special experience. Yeah.
Well, thank you guys so much for coming in and hanging out with us.
Thank you so much.
Yeah. Congratulations on the film. We can't wait to see more. And thanks for sharing your wisdom. All right.
