Young Hollywood

Okay, so not too far.

Jessica Rothe

Yeah, not too far at all. I love Colorado more than anything. I think it's the best place in the world.

Young Hollywood

Do you think you'll move back?

Jessica Rothe

There's not really a business for what I want to do there. Fair enough. But I do love getting to go visit. I'm very glad that I feel like my parents will never ever leave. So, I always have a place to go home. But it's it's nice being able to go and visit and ski and to take advantage of all those things. Yeah. So, lucky.

Young Hollywood

And London or England. Is where London.

Alex Roe

London. London boy. London. I'm a Yeah, I'm a London boy. I'm from from Hammersmith, which is in West London.

Young Hollywood

You get more of the city vibe. Baby London.

Alex Roe

Yes. Yeah, yeah, which is like kind of similar to Yeah, it's got a similar New Yorky kind of vibe. Everyone being on the subway or the tube so often that like you're used to being this close to people's face and but not actually talking to them.

Young Hollywood

So, do you spend more of your time there or here now?

Alex Roe

Uh, I'm spending more and more time in uh in Los Angeles in America. So, yeah.

Young Hollywood

And both for acting, obviously. Although, you could be spending time here for singing.

Alex Roe

Uh, I don't know about that.

Young Hollywood

So, Forever My Girl, the film that you two worked together on, literally the first scene, you open your mouth and I was like, is that his real voice? Why is he an actor? Like, you could be a full-time country singer.

Jessica Rothe

Not only that, but I don't know if they told you, he didn't know He had never sung in front of people. He sang in the shower. Right? Self-proclaimed shower singer. Completely learned how to sing and play the guitar for this film. He worked his butt off. Oh. He really did.

Young Hollywood

Yeah. Did you just do music, like musical training and learn how to play guitar, or was this all

Alex Roe

Yeah, I I'd like picked up the guitar a few times when I was a kid. Uh, my mom got me one. But I was I quickly realized I had no real skill. Um, and yeah, so never took any lessons or anything. But yeah, I for this, I'd just listened to country music all day every day. And then me and uh this guy Brett Boyette worked on developing Liam's sound.

Young Hollywood

Oh, I really did, yeah. For your love. Norland, thank you. You guys are awesome. I'm sorry about your grandma, Josie. Hey, Liam. Hey, dad.

Jessica Rothe

We did some Liam and Josie dates to prep.

Young Hollywood

So, what did you guys do?

Jessica Rothe

Yeah, we went to to a blues bar that was like basically sawdust all over the floor. Like. Play pool. Still in Rick beer. A 75-year-old like guitarist. Setting the characters so well. There was definitely some washboarding going on.

Young Hollywood

Yeah, for sure. Uh, what's washboard?

Jessica Rothe

The with the washboard, when they play the washboard. Oh, that's Yeah, yeah. Yeah, a little bit of that going on.

Young Hollywood

Oh, in this film, your high school sweethearts, right? Did either of you have a high school sweetheart?

Jessica Rothe

Oh, for sure.

Young Hollywood

Yeah? You know the name of your

Jessica Rothe

I do. I know the first and last name of every boy I ever had a crush on. You remember You know you remember it. Right. Of course. I had a couple, but my real high school sweetheart was this guy named Harry. And he had blonde, wild hair and wore lime green pants all the time. And we were in We were in a play together. Our senior year, or my senior year. He was a junior. I was like totally robbing the cradle. And we had a make out scene. And during the final dress rehearsal, I got a bloody nose in the middle of the scene and didn't know until I pulled back and there was blood all over his face. And I was like head over heels with this guy. I hadn't told him. And I was mortified. I was I was dying inside. And he was a really good sport about it and laughed it off. And then like a couple hours later, I went up to him and I was like, I'm so sorry. Again. He was like, no, it's totally fine. At least it didn't happen to you with your boyfriend. And I was like, he's never gonna love me. And then. No. And then like two weeks later, we started dating.

Young Hollywood

Did you tell him? Did you tell him, I actually have

Jessica Rothe

Not in that moment. I was too way too embarrassed. But no bleeding. No nose bleeding during any of the kiss in this movie for her. No nose bleeding during any of it.

Alex Roe

Yeah, I'm a little bit offended actually. I feel like you like when you fancy someone I held out. I held out on you obviously. A nose bleed on them and I missed out.

Jessica Rothe

No, we had we had some very romantic moments in the movie. We definitely. We had some of those like I love movies like this. And I remember watching rom-coms when I was 13. And in watching those moments where you're like, I just want to be that girl. And there were some moments in this film where I would like they would yell rolling and then action and I'd step out and be about to do something and be like, I'm that girl right now. This is insane. It was really cool. So cool.

Young Hollywood
