Young Hollywood, what is going on? We have Emree here in the studio.

Anne-Marie

Hi.

Young Hollywood

Emree, I have a question for you.

Anne-Marie

Uh-huh.

Young Hollywood

Can I be a friend?

Anne-Marie

Yeah.

Young Hollywood

Yes. I'm Emree's friend, everybody. That wasn't that hard, was it?

Anne-Marie

That was really easy. I was hoping that yeah, maybe a little struggle. Not challenge we're a little on that. It's easy.

Young Hollywood

So, the song Friends? Yeah. with Marshmello.

Anne-Marie

Mhm.

Young Hollywood

It's pretty awesome. How did you how do you write a song with Marshmello?

Anne-Marie

Well, you know what? It wasn't even planned. Like, we didn't plan to have a writing session and make a song. He remixed my song Alarm about two years ago. And I loved it so much, but I'd never met him. And he was in London. And my manager was like, "Just go, go to the studio and meet him." And that was just the plan. And it ended up becoming a session. And we wrote this and recorded it in like three hours.

Young Hollywood

Did he have the helmet on, or the head thing on, the entire time?

Anne-Marie

The entire time. Yeah.

Young Hollywood

How did you write? Did he write? Did you with like a whiteboard or anything?

Anne-Marie

No, he can see what I'm writing.

Young Hollywood

He see what you're writing?

Anne-Marie

He has head knots. Yeah, yeah. He goes, "Yeah" when he

Young Hollywood

I feel like you're on some like NDAs for this. Like, you really can't say what happened.

Anne-Marie

Maybe. It's all right. It's all right.

Young Hollywood

Let's talk about the song. Let's talk about the song cuz the the lyrics here are about putting people in friend zones, right?

Anne-Marie

Yeah.

Young Hollywood

Is that what you do? Are you putting people in friend zones?

Anne-Marie

Not every day, but I I always love to write songs that I haven't really heard that like vibe before. Totally. I try and write from different points, even if I am writing about an a cheating boyfriend, which I do quite a lot. I I love to write about different subjects. So, this one, I just thought, "Who's written about this before?" Right. And then I thought, "If anyone wants to put someone in the friend zone, they can just send them this song."

Young Hollywood

I heard though that you actually are very romantic when it comes to you giving people things on dates. Like, you've given flowers to some.

Anne-Marie

Yeah, I give flowers to everyone, yeah. Yeah, I love flowers.

Young Hollywood

To friends or to um, both. Dates?

Anne-Marie

Yeah, both. Yeah.

Young Hollywood

Is that weird?

Anne-Marie

Not at all.

Young Hollywood

I would love to get some flowers. Who else would like to get some flowers from Emree? Yeah. Everyone's raising their hand. Of course. I was a little nervous to hang out on the couch with you because you're so talented. You have a lot of talents.

Anne-Marie

Yeah.

Young Hollywood

Should we just start off with the eyes? Yeah. Cuz I didn't know this taunt until Mary, let's get this eyes real quick here. Yeah. What is you can do with the eyes?

Anne-Marie

I need to I need to go into I need to look into the mic. You gotta look into the camera. thing. Ready? Can you see it?

Young Hollywood

Oh, yeah. I saw that. Yeah, we we heard people laughing in the back. I'm glad that came across cuz otherwise it would just be me like going I'm stylist here helping out. I'm stylus here. Thank you. Her stylist is her stylus on point?

Anne-Marie

Yeah. Well, they're flowers. I love flowers.

Young Hollywood

You also, let's talk about talents, you're a karate expert?

Anne-Marie

Mm.

Young Hollywood

What belt?

Anne-Marie

Uh, black belt, fourth dan. Um, I'm not messing with you. Yeah, I started when I was nine years old. And then I now I'm three times world karate champion.

Young Hollywood

What What is that? Um, three times world champion. World champion? Yeah. Have you ever been in in a fist fight before?

Anne-Marie

Mm. Yeah.

Young Hollywood

You can tell me. Did you win?

Anne-Marie

Yeah, yeah. But, you know what? It's it's more like it actually sent me the other way on not fighting because I was a very angry kid. And then I when I started karate, I calmed down.

Young Hollywood

Now, one of your really good friends, Ed Sheeran. Yeah. He seems like a real sweetheart.

Anne-Marie

Yeah, he is.

Young Hollywood

Who do you think would win in a fight between you and Ed Sheeran?

Anne-Marie

Me.

Young Hollywood

You would. You didn't even have to finish the question. Did you hear that?

Anne-Marie

I've told him so many times, and he's like, "Whatever." And then I he got me me to punch his arm one day, just to see how hard I could punch. He goes drinking. And he bruised for like a week.

Young Hollywood

Okay, so you you have an album coming out. Yeah. You have so many songs that have been on the radio and already smash hits at the beginning of your career. Are these songs going to be on the album?

Anne-Marie

Yeah, they are. So, Ciao Adios, Alarm. We can name drop, yeah. Um, yeah, you know, Love Lives. Um, Rockabye, Clean Bandit. Yeah, Rockabye's on there and Friends. So, there's a few that people know already, which I love. But then there's also the rest that some people have heard while I've been on tour cuz I toured them. But then some that no one has ever heard. So, I'm excited about those. Those are the ones I'm really excited about.

Young Hollywood

Well, it was amazing to hang out with you.

Anne-Marie

Thanks. Thank you.

Young Hollywood

Can we uh can you give me maybe a karate move on the way out? Cuz I'm not going to lie to you, I took a little karate when I was younger.

Anne-Marie

Did you?

Young Hollywood

Yeah, in kindergarten. I can show you one, cuz I took it year one. What you do is you do this. You hold your arms like this. Tell me if I'm right or wrong. You do like that. That's the punch. Oh, okay. Is that right or wrong?

Anne-Marie

I mean, it's kind of okay. Can I get you to do one of these? How's it really supposed to go? So, first of all, you need to make sure this comes all the way back. You can't just do it like this. So, it comes all the way back and just before you go to get out, then you twist right at the end. But, yeah. See you guys later. We love you.
