Stranger Things Cast's Tips on Surviving the Upside Down

What's going on guys? Nicole Cotch here in the Young Hollywood studio hanging out with the Stranger Things cast. How are you guys?

Good, how are you?

I'm doing well. So Joe, you play Steve. Natalia, you're Nancy. and Dacre you play Billy. I heard you have a very interesting audition tape. Would you mind telling us about that? I've heard so much.

I feel like now I don't know, I made a little bit of a short film and I may or may not have danced in a G-string to uh hungry like the wolf but uh

You impressed some people then.

Uh look, sex sells I guess. Um I don't know, I did a lot of other stuff in it, but apparently it's gonna be leaked. So I'm very nervous about that, but we'll find out how that goes down. Or how it comes off rather, I guess.

Can you guys each give us one tip of how to survive the Upside Down? So when you leave, we have three really solid tips in case that ever happens in real life.

Yeah. It's possible.

Bring a friend.

That would be nice, yeah. That option.

I guess bad advice but maybe just don't even go to the Upside Down. Just probably stay away because you never know that I, you know, they could just that little tree hole could close and then you can just

Goo and stuff. You know, you should just not go in the first place.

All right, not go body system if you do go and then what's your tip?

Look, Billy has a pretty fun mullet. I think that you could if you bring the mullet along, I mean it might help you along the way.

So Millie she plays Eleven and she has superpowers, telekinesis, so she can move things with the power of her mind. If you guys had the same power, what would you guys do with it?

Turn my alarm off when I'm lying in bed. That's a good one.

Lazy, lazy things when you like can't reach your phone. Yeah. You just like

I was gonna say bring my coffee in the morning. I was just being incredibly lazy.

Open a jar if you can't even open your jars or something.

So we always know in the show that something really intense is about to happen when lights start to flicker because of all the energy and stuff like that. Have you guys ever experienced that in real life or did anything weird after filming happen?

In our hotel room last night I put on that, you know, the little key chain thing, the that the lock on the door, the little chain. Yeah. So 100%, double checked by everybody in the room went to bed and got up in the morning and the key chain's off.

What about you, Natalia? Anything weird happened to you?

There's been times where you know, light bulbs are just flickering for sure very, you know, technology-related reasons but just from the show I definitely get like oh. Yeah.

How about you, Joe?

It's like really windy the other night and

Did your hair stay intact?

That was inside. It was fine. Yeah, but it was really my the windows kept blowing open and knocking over bowls and the screen got knocked out. And um

Where, where were you?

Here in LA. It was scary.

To end this one, can you guys each just go around and tell us how your character is gonna be different as we come back and what we can expect from you?

So Billy's a bit of a I play a bit of the human antagonist in this season. Um, I think you can expect to think that he's sort of a stereotypical kind of bully jock at the beginning of the season but then far more sinister things start to unfold and you can expect a lot of mullet, but no G-string. Oh man. I'm sorry guys.

Yes. Season 3. For, for Nancy it's been, you know, a year since we last saw her, so for her it's really dealing with, you know, the loss of her friend again and all, you know, justice for Barb this season. You know, hashtag it.

For Steve it's about um kind of the world uh that he knew was changed when he met Nancy at the beginning of the first season and it's kind of just a continuation of that. And how things um never really find solid ground. It just continuing to change and interact with uh different characters that'll influence him, I think in a positive way.
