Riverdale's Mark Consuelos Spills on Southside Serpent Theories

What's going on guys? Nicole Katch in the Young Hollywood Studio hanging out with Mark Consuelos. What's up Mark? How you doing?

Good. How are you doing?

It's great. This couch is so comfortable.

There's a lot of people that have been on this couch, right?

Yeah, look. I'm trying to recognize some people. Yeah. I like I know I know them.

So I don't know if you know this, but the show that you're on is one of the coolest ever.

I do know I've been told. I'm really excited about it. Yeah. Um, my 16-year-old daughter is like, dad, it's like totally the best show.

Yeah. Also, it's Riverdale for people that are just like what kind of show is he on? It's Riverdale. You should know what that is. And you play Hiram Lodge, which is also super cool.

Hiram Lodge. Yeah. And he they talked about him all last year, which is cool. I've I've never had a character teed up like this for me. So I'm really excited. Hopefully people um like my interpretation of him.

Yeah. So by the time this interview comes out, everyone in the whole world will have seen your entrance into the show. I got to see a sneak peek of it. What do you think? I can just tell Hiram's going to stir up some stuff. Do you agree?

Yes. Yeah. Yeah. I mean they I'm really lucky. They they've given me such good stuff to play. I mean the writing's awesome, as you know on the show.

Yeah, of course. Well, I want to be a Lodge. Do you want to be a Lodge? Yeah. You could be a Lodge.

Really? Yeah.

I was going to ask what do you think that like a Lodge, what does it take to be a Lodge?

Um are you a sociopath?

Someone say so. I'm kidding. Yeah, you're super nice. I love all the characters too, but I would have to say I love Veronica probably the most so far. Like I think she just she plays it so well. And it's played by Cammy Mendez. Yeah. So did you guys get to bond before filming to make the father-daughter? I love when she softens a little bit too. It's also nice. So we know Hiram kind of works with the Serpents a little bit. Not necessarily directly, but he kind of has. Well, I my interpretation he has like power a little bit, right? Like he's able to control the Serpents and kind of their actions. Well, he was in prison. But would you say that the Serpents are evil or is it kind of the same? They have good intentions, but you know?

Right. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Right. I think he probably uh wouldn't consider them evil.

Okay. But useful.

But useful. That's a good word. Yeah. I like it. Yeah, we'll see.

All right. Uh so I saw on your Instagram. You have a picture with KJ and Charles, and you guys are working out.

Yeah. They were yeah.

You know exactly what I'm talking about. Hashtag legend series. What is that?

Yeah. Well, KJ, what I I love the I love him so much and he's actually the same age as my son, my oldest son. Okay. They're like a week and a half apart. That's how close I'm when I look at him, I'm so blown away because the kid kid the young man is living he's from New Zealand, and he's you know the lead in a a hit show, and he does it with such grace and humility. And you've met him, so you know. Yeah, he's a great great great guy. I love how he says legend a lot. He does say that a lot. So that's the thing. says it a lot. And so I just we just kind of ran with it. It may have it may it may have run its course, it may come back. I'm not sure but those that picture I took at the gym. I wasn't working out with them. Those guys go way too hard. Really? I just happened to be there at the same time. And so I must take a picture just to just to make it, you know, pretend that I was working out with you guys.

I was going to ask if you were turning them into legends.

Oh, they're legendary already. Yeah.

Aww, you guys hear that out there. That's so sweet. So I know you can't tell us exactly what happened. Um in the episode of where you kind of enter. But it does focus on Fred's wallet. Do you have any theories as to why Fred's wallet is such a big part of when you enter? It does go missing, right?

Yes.

Does it reappear?

Not from what I've seen.

Interesting. But Veronica gives one to Archie. Right. Spoilers. So I'm curious to see what happens there.

I'm curious too. I do know the answer to that, but I have to be careful.

Oh, you do know the answer. Oh, I thought you were just saying you just have no idea yet.

Yeah, but I just don't yeah, I don't yeah. I'm not sure. I'm not quite sure Hiram knows where it is.
