I am here with the star of Mr. Robot, Carly Chaikin and she and the show won a mother Golden Globe.

It's been crazy. It's been amazing. It's so interesting cuz I've never seen another show do as much press and just non-stop stuff as we've done, which has been unbelievable because of how much momentum the show's gotten.

First of all, the reason there's a reason I have this sweatshirt on my couch because I interviewed you guys before the show even came out um, last year and it was like, here was the thing. Whoever was there was so nice that they gave me like I just was freezing cold because we did this interview outside and they gave me a Mr. Robot sweatshirt. So, I walked around before the show came out and I would wear this. This was like and I would have the hoodie on. I didn't even know what I was channeling at that time, that I was channeling the way Romi wears his sweatshirt. But, I would go to like through the airport and whatever and people would be like, "What's Mr. Robot? What's Mr. Robot?" Now, I'm such a bad-ass. There's been a couple people that you've tweeted about or tweeted to, like Rob Lowe is one of them.

Oh my God, I love him.

Was that just a random tweet and then he tweeted you back or had you met before?

No.

Okay.

And I was like, Oh, yeah. It's so funny cuz if I randomly tweet someone back and and they like freak out, I'm like, I don't what why are you freaking out? But then like Rob Lowe does, I'm like, stop the world. Like Rob Lowe just tweeted to me. The Grinder is like one of my favorite shows ever. I feel like it's so underrated. I wanted to find him at the Globes.

You did.

But I didn't find him.

Who else good did you find? Was Steve Carrell, wasn't it Steve Carrell? Was that a good?

I took a selfie with him. Yes. At the AFI luncheon.

I think he was kind of like, "Who let this girl in here and how did he get how did she get in here?" Cuz I was like, Re-fawning?

Yeah, I was I like ran up because I was trying to find Ryan Gosling too. I'm like such a fangirl. I just have no shame.

Yeah. No, that's good. And and that's the way it should be. So, did you find Ryan?

No.

Oh my gosh. Now, what would happen if you met Steph Curry?

Oh God. Okay, here's my dream scenario.

Okay, do tell.

My boyfriend and I went to the Golden State Warriors game. Drake is I'm also obsessed with him and so I came up with this whole scenario of what was going to happen for the night.

Do you do that? Do you do these cuz I do these things in my head when I'm going somewhere and I think this could actually happen.

Oh, yeah. I was like, okay, so we're going to go to the game, Drake's going to be there. I'm going to be like, "Hey, Drake." and he's going to be like, "Oh my God, I watch Mr. Robot and I love you." And then Steph Curry'd be like, "Me too." And then after the game, they'd be like, "Do you guys want to all hang out?" I don't know and I'd be like, "Yeah, sure yeah, let's go to dinner." Or think about it. And then like, Drake'd be like, "Hey, let's go play basketball." and then I'd go play basketball.

Oh my God, I love this. One fashion trend that you're into right now. Cuz I noticed when you went to the Globes and that, you wore some Chloe. It was like a little bit of a Boho sort of thing happening.

At critics choice.

Critics Choice, yeah. It had a Chloe.

God. I mean, I came here in sweatpants and sneakers. My obsession right now are Vince like the slip on flat shoes.

I know you've done shows before, this is not your first show, but you had said I think that this was the best pilot you ever read. So, did you have an idea that this was going to take off the way it did?

I mean, you never know is the hard thing. I hoped that it would and in my own mind expected that it would cuz it was so good that how could it not? You have no idea how people are going to respond or react to anything. So, having the audience and everyone else be as passionate about it as we are and as excited about it as we are is absolutely the best thing you could ask for.

Do you watch the show? Like as it's like

Oh, yeah. With fans live tweeting that whole thing. I do not understand actors that don't watch their work. I have to.

There's a lot of them that don't. Like a lot of them. I don't know if they believe them. Really? You think they're secretly like, "I don't watch myself." and they're like, "Rewind. Pause."

Yeah. Screenshot. Do it again. Literally, because you spend so much time working on something and put so much into it that how do you not want to see the final product? You know? How I always just want to see what we've done and also what the audience and viewers are going to see. And also because, you know, I don't really pay attention to other people's storylines as much during the table reads. So, everybody else's stuff aside from mine is like watching it for the first time. Right. So, for me and I love the show that I love watching it as a normal TV show too.

So, I also read on your Twitter that you love, like you could rehearse one scene for hours. Like you just And that's sort of like I was like, "Oh, this is the girl after my own heart because I love researching guests." Like I can get into it. I could research for hours. I could like research somebody for days. So, what is your prep like?

It's sad. Like I can work on one scene for hours. It's really just taking the dialogue of what we have and asking why. And I actually do that in real life and my boyfriend gets very annoyed with me. And my mom used to get so annoyed because I used to go, "Why?"

Yeah. Cuz kids do that. Why? Why?

But like, I'd be like, "Why is it called a window and not a schwaba?" Like, "Why this?" Like, "Why? Why? Why?" So, you know, with all the material, I'm like, "Well, why? Why am I saying that?" Like, "What does that mean?" Like, "Why am I reacting that way? What happened to make me do that?" And it's just, you know, really breaking everything down and figuring out why. As humans, we don't everything we do is for a reason and comes from somewhere. And I think with acting, you know, it's really about emulating real human emotion. And so the only way to do that is to really figure out what's going on. Yeah. My favorite example is if you say like, "Oh, you know, my first boyfriend like, Steve." The way you say Steve is so different than the way you'd say anyone else's name.

I say a lot of why's when it comes to ex-boyfriends, so.

Why? Why? Why? There's a lot of different why's in there, too.

I heard that um, Romi's very sweet that he decorated your trailer with gummy bears.

Yes, he did. We were on Coney Island. He was going to the candy store and was like, "What's your favorite candy?" And for some reason, like Darlene's like favorite candy I realize is gummy bears. Like every time I did it did an intense scene or something, all I wanted was gummy bears. And so he I like went into hair makeup and came back and my entire trailer was covered in gummy bears all shapes, sizes, colors. Everybody on the cast is so amazing. It's unbelievable.
