The album, Inanimate Objects. Yes. What what exactly does Inanimate Objects mean? What is an Inanimate Object?

Well, an inanimate object is uh is a non-living object. Um, and so I I think that it was it was almost a little tongue-in-cheek in that uh during the writing of an album, you feel like you're just stuck in one place and that you you're your entire life is just in this room. So we kind of felt like we were inanimate objects. Um but it's also a reference from the first single on the album called Molecules which has the line lyrics.

I love lyrics of songs. Yeah. I don't know why an artist uh comes up with those lyrics of the song. Um and there's a song in in Stockholm, that mean lyric lyrics in Stockholm. It's one a moment lost the bet. Yeah. One a moment lost the bet. Saw a mountain when to bed. Tell me why did you put that into the song?

Well, I traveled to Stockholm, that's why the song is called Stockholm. Originally it was called Stockholm Waiting because I was sitting in an airport waiting to come back to the States. Um, I went there for a week um to do some writing and and explore and to um catch up with some people. And there were that's that first verse of that song is really a stream of consciousness and I felt that I was there um doing the right thing um but I was kind of doing it for the wrong reasons. I was there to please other people, um which I probably won't go into. But I was there to please someone else and I found myself I've kind of like overall, I feel like I'm losing here. And and that kind of that there had the had the the feeling that um I kind of I won the moment but I lost the bet. Um and that Yeah, it's it's kind of it represented the way I feel.

Take a picture you could never recreate. Take a picture you could never recreate. Can you tell me a time when you were in a city and you could took that picture but you can't ever recreate that?

Um, I've always just been fascinated with those moments in time, you know, when you see a photo of say like your ancestors and they're at the beach or something like that. And they're obviously having a good time, there's and someone took a photo of them. I've always been fascinated with what was actually happening, you know around them. What was in their heads at the time? Um and that's kind of referencing that. You know, as you know you take a a happy snap with your friends and um that's it like you've captured it and then you know that's it's gone and we all age and you can't go back and you can never really recreate it.

I guess that's why people love Snapchat. It's probably a bunch of reasons why people like Snapchat but That's one reason. We're going into the other reasons. I wanted to uh uh talk about some of your your Instagram photos.

Yeah, this is Gary. That's Gary. Gary is a kangaroo, selfie kangaroo picture there? Yeah, he was holding the phone actually. That is uh an animal sanctuary for native Australian animals. So you can go there and there are hundreds of kangaroos, wallabies, koalas.

Koalas. Uh a bunch of other native animals. Let's see what else was on your Instagram feed here. That was Oh wow. That's you.

Yeah, that's me with a um very interesting hat on. No, so I went sailing. I've got friends. I'm lucky enough to have friends that own a really nice yacht. So I don't have to worry about the upkeep. I just

This is actually uh about a half an hour from where I grew up in Australia.

Well, his name is Marcus.

Marcus and he's he's the keeper, the protector, the keeper of this uh of your studio.

Yeah. He um, he's the the family dog. Um unfortunately we don't get to see him very often because we're out here most of the time. But um, he's a golden lab as you can see.

So wait, this is is this like your family like your your your parent's dog.

We got him around about the time we all moved away. I think it was almost like two of your sons are moving away. He's a dog to replace the sons. That was kind of what it was. But he's a family dog, yeah.

That's actually uh the guitar I was using just before. Not on a guitar stand. Uh inspiration was was striking at that point. I didn't have time to put it in on a guitar stand.

This picture is interesting to me. First off, happy Australian Day. Australia Day. I I've got invited to a lot of Australian Day parties. It was just this just this just happened, right? Australia Day? Australian Day is the 26th of I What is Australia Day? What's going on?

It's the same as your 4th of July. It's our version of the 4th of July.

Where were you guys in this photo?

Um, a friend's place. We had a we had a darts night to celebrate. Um because you know darts being the traditional Australian game.

Is that a dart? Not true. No. And you guys are pointing at something. Well, he's pointing at you're kind of pointing.

No, that was a bull's eye. Mark will just got a bull's eye. You can't quite see. But we just won that game.

Yeah. I was doing something that was deemed inappropriate uh so we just thought we'd just pixelate that.
