Young Hollywood

I'm here on the Young Hollywood sofa joined by the lovely Lily Collins and the handsome Sam Claflin. How are you?

Lily Collins

Good.

Sam Claflin

You put you put your lovely. You the numbers that you pull out. Are just brilliant. I mean, I got to come dressed to the nines, right? I kind of always weirdly coordinate with the choice of pillows.

Young Hollywood

You do research.

Sam Claflin

Exactly. Well. He's actually your team are so organized. They email ahead of time and we we called out the pillows. Yeah, yeah. Curtains everything changes.

Young Hollywood

Yeah. You love your fashion and you were journalism was a big part of your life as well. So you'd probably be doing that if you weren't doing this.

Lily Collins

Yeah, or um, I, I,

Young Hollywood

What else did you wanna do? What? Come on, let it out.

Lily Collins

Or I'd be a master baker.

Sam Claflin

I thought you were gonna say something else. Thank you. I know. I know don't worry. I know. That last thing, I thought there was gonna come out of Lily Collins's mouth nearly just happened.

Lily Collins

Well, we said we were we were in the junket and I said very I was just like, yeah, I wanna be a master baker and I was like I think they asked me when I thought you wanted to be, and I should have said oh fashion. I thought a master chef and then I love baking and I mixed them up. Whatever. Yeah, I I would be a journalist or I would bake.

Young Hollywood

Love Rosie, a lot of it was filmed in Ireland. Is that right?

Lily Collins

Yeah. So all of it. Yeah. All of it. And.

Young Hollywood

Obviously fun in Ireland, I'm sure.

Sam Claflin

Yeah, I was able to let my hair down. Um, I was

Young Hollywood

Great hair as well. Great hair to let down.

Sam Claflin

No, well, it's it's it's a real. I couldn't just give Lily the uh compliments. No, no, no. It was all about Sam's hair. But I think my on set hair was even more special to be honest. I think the wig took me back. Very nostalgic.

Young Hollywood

Nice. The whole Justin Bieber

Sam Claflin

The whole Justin Bieber halfway. Yeah, that moment's always good.

Young Hollywood

And and what what drew you to the project? Obviously it was a it was a bestselling novel, so that helps.

Lily Collins

I really wanted to do a romantic comedy, especially a British one because like all the Richard Curtis films are my favorite. Right, right. And then I weirdly always had this thing about wanting to play pregnant or like a young mom. Okay. And the script had all three. So it was kind of

Sam Claflin

It has every it's an emotional rollercoaster. Yeah. It's up and down. Yeah. Which is what a rollercoaster is. Yeah. Great. Well done, Sam. Well done. No fries on you. I'm on fire. Movie clip: I'm tired of waiting. And it feels good with him. Alex. Just back for the weekend. I thought I'd surprise you. I was watching you two tonight. You're good together. If you reject him, he's gonna make it his life's mission to go out there and meet the most perfect, beautiful girl in the world just to try and get over you. We're getting married. You told me to come there. It wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for you. Every time something goes wrong in my life, all I gotta do is look at yours and it puts everything into perspective.

Young Hollywood

How would you say Sam that it's a fresh take on romantic comedy?

Sam Claflin

Um, I I I think the fact that it's a younger vibe, the fact that it's dealing with very adult problems, you know. I think a lot of teenagers go through similar issues and able I think everyone's able to relate to the fact that, you know, my best friend, do we don't we? Do we give it a go? Is there something there? I don't know. I think everyone has had that moment in their lives. So I think it's a very relatable story for that very What's it? Pivotal. Pivotal moments in their lives.

Lily Collins

Was that the word you were looking for?

Sam Claflin

No. Because I I would never get. It was definitely new. Normally she's so good at answering. Yes. Finishing my sentences. I don't know. She's have a little pocket, Lily. Just whenever you're like, whenever you're stuck, whenever you're struggling with words, you're like, what is it? Brilliant. Yes.

Young Hollywood

Is there is there any scene in the movie in particular that was a favorite of favorite of yours that was challenging or favorite that sticks out?

Lily Collins

Challenging wise, uh, the wedding speech. I was just terrified because when you're when you're giving something like a wedding speech in a movie, I hate to watch something where it looks like they're trying to remember lines or if it doesn't come out natural. So I really felt like I was giving some epic wedding speech and the extras obviously hadn't heard it before, so I wanted to be really interesting. They're just sitting there. And I saw a couple who one lady actually started crying and she came up to me afterwards and she was like, that was a really touching speech. And I was like, does she know it's a movie? Like I wasn't giving. She just wanted to know she was just She just felt so bad for me and I was like, oh, wow, thank you.

Sam Claflin

And for me, I mean, any scene that involved any dancing I think was pretty pretty stressful.

Young Hollywood

Was that a lot of training?

Sam Claflin

Yeah, years and years of experience. You did your own stunts? I basically jumped up and down to the music. Probably out of time most of the time. I I I hate dancing. I hate dancing so much. You know, I don't think I've ever done it without a Guinness or two in my in my system. So it was it was difficult.

Young Hollywood

Perfect place. What did you guys uh exploring in Ireland? I'm sure it's not your first time.

Lily Collins

Oh, our favorite thing ever. The epic wax museum.

Young Hollywood

There's a wax museum, right? That's there's a

Lily Collins

Tell me about this wax museum.

Sam Claflin

Well, we've done it. Harry Potter, but he's more. I I can't describe it. He looks yeah, it looks like a ferret. Like a ferret with glasses. It It's just very It's an eclectic group of people. It's, you know, Ireland's pride, right? So you've got many Irish people in there. But then you have like Spongebob. Remember It's fun. I think Spongebob comes from back in the day was Irish for

Lily Collins

Absolutely.

Sam Claflin

But I think you know what it is? Is that when you look at a candle, you see it before it's ever been lit and it's so lovely and beautiful. And then you see it having kind of been burned for about seven years and the fact that all the wax is drip. That was basically the equivalent of. But it was fun. It was an experience. It was fun.

Young Hollywood

Well, for now, everyone should go watch Love, Rosie. Watch these two. See what outfit she's wearing. And look at his hair. Look at it.
