In Tomorrowland, you play Casey. Tell me a little bit about her.

She's a really strong-willed chick. She's a smart girl. She does not take no for an answer. She but she knows what she wants, which is kind of a rare thing for a young woman. She's, you know, she's 17. She's trying to figure out, you know, colleges and and future and plans and right now everyone around her, you know, classmates or people are just looking at their future in a really, you know, downer kind of a mood, you know, bad attitude. And she's got a really good attitude. She's she has an optimistic view. And and because of that perspective, she gets recruited to go to Tomorrowland, which is a nice little gift.

What if there was a place? A secret place where nothing was impossible. No way. Where you could actually change the world. You want to go? And uh, not bad company either with George's okay. He's all right. But the kid, the cute little 12-year-old, I mean, she is

For George Clooney for a second. Yeah. Raffy Cassidy is the cutest of all. Everybody's buzzing about her. She's incredible in the movie. She's so good. I mean, her character, once people see the movie, you'll you'll realize what a challenge it must have been for her to to play this character, but she's really good at it.

Now, I know she did a lot of her own stunts.

All of them I think.

And what about you?

Most of them, I think. Most of them. Not as much as Raffy, but um, there were I mean there were maybe only like two that I didn't do.

George is kind of known for mentoring younger actors.

Oh, is he? Yeah, well, that's fantastic.

Yes, so I heard. That's why Shailene Woodley has been so successful. And Anna Kendrick. I mean, he's just pumping them out. It's the Clooney effect.

Right, right.

What did he teach you on set?

Nothing. I don't think he liked me very much. Or I mean, no, I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. Maybe he uh maybe he thought I could handle it on my own, you know.

You gave him advice. Let's be real.

Plenty, so much advice.

What did you tell him?

I was like, look, Cloone, you got to stop with the pranks.

Clooney.

Yeah. Clooney. I threw that out there. No, but he there were many times where he would never give me like overt advice, but he'd say like a director like, "Oh, you know who you should work with this guy." Or, "Oh, my favorite actors to work with," and, "You know, you would be really great with her, you know, in this." So that was really cool. Even just like considering myself as an actor enough that I could be associated with cool directors or cool actors is is really fun.

And you mentioned pranks. Yeah, he's really into the pranks. What was the worst prank that he pulled on you?

He pulled no pranks on me. I'm telling you. I'm telling you. I was out of titanium set. I knew what I was doing. I had it all under control. I said, look, no pranks. I'm sorry. I'm not that kind of gal. You don't do it.

Was this written into your contract?

It was. If I'm going to do a George Clooney movie, he cannot prank me.

I love it. I love it. But what about Hugh Laurie?

I love Hugh Laurie. Hugh Laurie's awesome. I love how the mood just changes. Like all of a sudden Hugh Laurie. George is like a silly and I can I can always, you know, make jokes about him, but like Hugh Laurie, we have to be serious when we talk about him because he's such a gem. He's like the loveliest, smartest man I've ever met, you know, and all and just so talented, like not just as an actor, but he plays the piano, he sings. He's great.

How does Casey get to Tomorrowland?

She is recruited by a character named Athena. And Athena takes her to meet Frank Walker, who is George Clooney's character.

Tomorrowland is full of some amazing visual effects. Um, did you have to act a lot in front of a green screen? Did you did you find it hard to do that or engage with the visual effects?

Yeah, it I mean, to be honest with you, there was not a ton of green screen. Uh, we maybe had two or three days out of a 99-day shoot that were fully green screen, but most of it was all done practically. So it was all tangible things that I was able to react to, which was helpful.

If you had a pin that could transport you anywhere, where would it transport you to?

I mean, like Bora Bora or some luxurious place. Some island resort. Yeah. You know, those like uh rooms that you can get over the water, you know, like off of little pier that would be awesome. I've heard of them. I've seen pictures on the internet. Like sharks and stuff. That'd be so cool.

Ooh, uh, bull riding. I don't know why I associate the two now. Because I was in that movie. I I don't know. I don't know. Someone will figure it out.

What was your favorite thing about doing The Longest Ride versus Tomorrowland?

Well, The Longest Ride was very casual cuz we were always there as like people, and we were dealing with very real elements. And so the energy was always just, you know, great, and it was an enjoyable energy. But Tomorrowland sometimes, you know, because we were dealing with technical things that we couldn't control. Sometimes we'd all get like very intense and we'd be like, "I don't know. What is the robot do?" You know, like just bizarre things that you should not be talking about at work. So that was a funny juxtaposition, you know, handling very real things and then very bizarre out of this world thing.
