Young Hollywood

Welcome to Young Hollywood. Kinsey here with Young Hollywood and we are taking you behind the scenes of Free Agents. I am on the set of Free Agents with Hank Azaria.

Young Hollywood

Tell me about Free Agents.

Hank Azaria

Well, here we are on the set. We're in, uh, my lovely co-star Catherine Hahn's kitchen. I mean, this is Young Hollywood, but I think, you know, I think we're still in the range of Young Hollywood. I think you'll still appreciate us old folks. What's the kind of a cynical, kind of anti-romantic comedy if you will.

Young Hollywood

Good morning, PR professionals. Alex, you look like hell. He was up all night doing El Nesto. He's just about to tell us about it.

Hank Azaria

Well, this is a staff meeting at a capitalist enterprise and as you may have read, time is money, so make it fast just the good parts.

Young Hollywood

You work in a PR firm on the show.

Hank Azaria

Corporate PR. Nasty kind of spin, we do damage control on awful people and awful corporations.

Young Hollywood

Your character's full of class and sass. She is very classy. Um, sassy's a nice word for it. Not a very good liar. So naturally you chose a career in corporate public relations.

Hank Azaria

I wanted to be a music journalist.

Young Hollywood

Really? That is so cool.

Hank Azaria

It was actually. Had my own little column and little. See, lying, easy. I should have his job.

Young Hollywood

Do you think that the saying is true, you know, there's no bad press?

Hank Azaria

I have occasionally thought, you know, I worked hard for years as an actor. I've occasionally contemplated like, why don't I just do some stupid scandal and just rocket to stardom.

Young Hollywood

Yeah. Do you believe the motto that all press is good press?

Hank Azaria

Good I guess there's all press is good press, especially now when, you know, fame is the new talent. So if someone just hears about you, that's good.

Young Hollywood

Yeah, that's. Unfortunately. If you weren't a leading man, what would you be?

Hank Azaria

My plan, in fact, was to try acting for about five years and then go back to grad school and and be a therapist. So if I could just have three minutes of your time when we we cut up. If I prorate that, that's probably about $28.

Young Hollywood

Your wardrobe's epic. Do you ever want to steal some of these items that you're wearing?

Hank Azaria

Yes, sometimes they'll let me borrow things. No, you're And I just have to be careful not to eat in them.

Young Hollywood

Have you ever dated a co-star?

Hank Azaria

Uh, everybody keeps telling me I'm supposed to get back on the horse. So I was wondering if you'd care to be that horse. Did it not come out right? Was it the crying? Cuz I swear I don't usually cry after sex.

Young Hollywood

Yeah. We hooking up with your co-workers.

Hank Azaria

Uh, no kids. No, the official word is no. Don't try that at home. It's not a good idea. Then unofficially, everybody does it at some point.

Young Hollywood

What co-workers do you just hate the most?

Hank Azaria

Uh, mostly the other actors. Right. I find their annoying, their their need for attention and uh, their insistence on saying their lines really uh, they tend to interrupt my flow, you know, as an artist.

Young Hollywood

So, single and on the prowl. You gotta be psyched, huh?

Hank Azaria

Actually, more of the exact opposite. So let's move on. I got a date. Her friend's cat died. She's coming out with us. Now I need a wingman.

Young Hollywood

I mean, this is a great opportunity for you to just sort of get back on the horse. And if you you can't do it, I could totally do it. No, Greg, you can't. I missed a really good segue when you were talking about your dress and not spilling on your dress. What's your favorite craft service item? Whether it's here or.

Hank Azaria

Wait, now talk about great segues. That should win an award. What's really embarrassing is you'll be shooting and then you'll the break will happen and they're like, where's Natasha? And like, she's a craft service. Everyone stop. Natasha's at craft service.

Young Hollywood

All right, well, I don't want to keep you too long because you're a woman with a schedule. And you're

Hank Azaria

I'm actually ovulating.

Young Hollywood

Oh my God. That's what I thought you were talking about. I was like, how does she know that? How can she tell? Well, now we get to see you on multiple stations. So you're king of the world now.

Hank Azaria

I am literally. That's right. I just I please come to my coronation, by the way.

Young Hollywood

Thank you so much for talking to Young Hollywood.

Hank Azaria

How young are we talking here? Is there immature Hollywood? Is that is that a channel?

Young Hollywood

Yeah, that's our YouTube station.

Hank Azaria

All right. I I feel I would rule there.
