Selena Gomez: On Being a Disney Star

Welcome to YoungHollywood. com. (upbeat music playing) Hi. I am here with Selena Gomez. You probably know her from Disney's "Wizards of Waverly Place." So what is it like to be a part of the Disney family?

It's really an honor, you know. They obviously know how to treat their kids, you know, and, and they take care of us.

What is work-life for you? What are your days like? What are your hours like?

I might wake up from seven in the morning. You normally do school for an hour, on set 'til 5:30, maybe like a cast promo shoot or a photo, things we like to do together, and then maybe go dinner and then go home and sleep.

How do you like playing your character on "Wizard's?"

I love my character. You know, my character is really fun. You know, she's kind of an opposite to me. You know, she gets in trouble a lot and I try to be as good as possible, but it's fun to be someone that I'm not and step into her shoes 'cause she's very feisty. She's fun.

What is it like to be in the ranks of Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato?

It's awesome. You know, I think Demi Lovato has been my best friend since I was seven. So it was my goal to get her on Disney Channel with me. So, it worked out that way and we're super blessed. So being able to work with, in my case, I'd pretty much say, my family, is so much fun for me.

So when you have downtime, if you have downtime, what do you like to do with your friends?

I like to just, you know, kind of stay home, rent movies in my pajamas with my friends and watch, you know, old scary movies or something. And then I like to go to the beach a lot and I love to surf, so.
