What's up, guys? Leslie Robbins here for Young Hollywood. Guess where we are? Back behind the scenes at Dancing with the Stars. Lale and Brendan, we are in the Dancing with the Stars rehearsal space. The buzz is alive. And I walked into your space and I got this like buzz, this real buzz. You guys got it going on in here.

Yeah. We're tryin'. We're tryin'. We're tryin'. We're tryin'. Depends on what. What kind of buzz you're talking about, but there's definitely something.

Yeah. Well, you're both smiling, you're both happy and energetic. That that says a lot.

Yes, yes. Yeah. I mean it's hard to be when you have this one runnin' around. How are you not? Yeah. How are you not?

Okay, you're here. Talk about how you got here. I want to know the phone call, the email, who you told first? Break all that down for me.

Okay, so Gleb actually, um, his his um, the the person that he's with, his girlfriend, um, was one of the reasons why I'm here. They asked for me. They were like, you should you should invite Lale. Like Lale's like dancing Instagram videos before I'm really, I don't have experience, but they've seen me in in Instagram videos with Montana. And they are the the reason why I'm here. So shout out to Gleb and his girlfriend, they are the reason why I'm here. When I first met Brandon, he was amazing. We had a connection. Uh, we we even spent some time I was teaching him some Venezuelan food and and Peruvian food and he teaches me everything that I know in dancing and my favorite like the most exciting thing with Brandon I think is you know, helping him win the Dancing with the Stars.

So, how does it translate your experience prior to Dancing with the Stars? Because this is like a whole different beast.

Oh, yeah. Well, the only experience that I've had dancing has been for those who know me and have followed me with Montana doing some videos in for Instagram. Yeah. But, I mean how does that work in the dancing? It does. Everything I've done in my whole life does not have to do anything with what's going on.

So, what do you gotta tap into to like find it and bring it here? Because you're stunning on the dance floor.

I think it's because I like dance movies a lot. So I'm very visual. So, when he like teaches me a move, I'm like, oh I know that move. Exactly. I know how it should look like. I just don't know how to do it. I don't really have a dancing experience. Uh, I've never danced professionally, so I don't know so much about the technique. But, I did do uh, videos with one of my good friends Montana Tucker and she taught me with a couple a couple of dance moves and I did that for Instagram videos, but that's pretty much it.

And teaching this goddess? Yes. Break it down.

It's been great. It's been great, honestly. I most of my partners that have come in have not had dance experience and so that was no issue for me, right? When she came in she's like, look, I dance on some Instagram videos, I've never taken a class in my life, I'm not trained, I'm not That's fine. That's fine. That's what the show's about. To me, it's about taking somebody like this that has potential and showing them get better and I think we've gotten better every week. I think she's gotten better every single week. Comes in with no experience. I've loved it.

But, you have experience. I mean, don't you think what you have is perfect for dancing?

I think my family has helped me a lot because my family moves a lot. They dance a lot. Like, you know, in parties and that, you know, you find the rhythm there since you were a baby. But, this is ballroom and this is technique and this is steps and I don't and coreo and I don't know that. Yeah. I've danced salsa. But one that I have never learned, um, I I'm gonna say two, tango and samba. Uh, samba's I feel like is one that I really want to learn because I'm going to Brazil soon. So, I have to know samba. And tango is something that I grew up watching my grandparents dance tango, so that's why.

You're a newlywed. How do you even have time to be a dancer?

Uh, well, he's also very busy and I'm very busy. So, like at the end of the day, we just come together and we send each other videos what we did that day. So it it helps a lot. It's not like he just stays and I'm here and I stay. No, no. So, it helps a lot and he's super supportive too.

I was gonna say, break down the support. What does it look like?

Yeah, he's very supportive. It's just like his wife. He's like they get mad like when we don't get the scores we I we love the scores. But they get mad because they for them we're a ten. Yeah. They're like protective. Yeah, yeah. Super protective like when it's like, you should have gotten this and this. I'm like, babe, like.

Wait, what do you say to him really?

I told him. I was like, am I proud of myself? Yes, I am. So that's the most important thing. Like this like I'm doing something I've never done. That's right.

And your wife, you're saying yeah. Great, great.

Dance in college, um, grew up a dancer. And so for us, she's the same way. She feels like Lale killed it. Brendan. Yeah. You're supposed to sit aside. Listen. I'm like, guys, we're it's all good. It's all good. But they yeah, super supportive.

Okay, so we're talking about family. Before the cameras were rolling, we were talking about the tour. Yes. And you started talking about the grueling schedule. Yeah. I can't believe what I heard. Can you talk about Yeah. the schedule behind the scenes what no one gets to see.

Of course, of course. So we start rehearsals just a few days after we finished our finale on the show. Um, the celebrities that they end up talking to to come on the show they have a few weeks break. The pros set everything. We choreograph, get ready. We have an amazing choreographer, Mandy Moore. So we start rehearsal. We'll rehearse for about two or three weeks through the holidays and then start January, we're out on tour about 10, 11 weeks. We're on a bus. There's two buses. We sleep on the bus, shower at the venue, get back on the bus. But we love it because we get to finally meet the fans that have supported us on the show, you know. It's crazy because we're always talking or dancing to a camera. Then you get on these stages and you get to see the people that are watching every Tuesday nights tuning in to Disney Plus, ABC. It's been incredible. We love it. We love it. We love it.

Wait, can you break down the bus? You said you're sleeping on the bus.

Yeah. So we sleep on the bus. There's like these little bunks. It's like it's like a little cot, a little dungeon. Right? You get your little Yeah. You get your little blanket pack. We get in there, we get in there, cuddled up. There's actually a video of me we were trying to jump from the bottom floor to the top bunk without using our arms. And I racked my head on the top of the bus so bad. So, I need to find the video. But your boy's got hops.

As as a dancer, how do you like figure it out when you get off the bus? Because isn't your body all.

I gotta be honest, it's actually pretty cozy because it's so dark and cold. I love to sleep when it's cold and dark. Are you like that?

Yes.

Yeah. So, once you zip the curtain, you're cozy in there. You got all your blankets. It's cold, it's dark. So, I actually kinda rocks you to sleep. I I like it.

Okay. Now next week is the most memorable year.

The year that I chose was 2020 because that's the year that I um, that I was I was the most vulnerable. I released a docu-series about all my mental health struggles, my disorders and everything. And then, you know, that was very tough, very very strong. You know, you usually get like hate from that when you open up. And then the ending of that year is a happy ending is when me and my husband like got together. So it's like so many emotions that year.

Oh, wait, how did you guys meet?

How did we meet? Yeah. Um, he actually came to one of my music videos the year before. So I met him there. And then the next year, we kinda like drifted up. We didn't really talk. And then we did a song together which went triple platinum and then that same year, 2020 2020 and then we got together at the end.

What's your most memorable year? Even though we're doing hers now. My Now I wanna know yours.

Yeah. Last year, the year I got married for sure. I my story's not as cool, though. I just slid in her DMs. And also fellas, always shoot your shot. Slid in the DMs, saw tall, beautiful blonde girl and all I said was, hey, what's up?

Actually, when we Okay, when you're talking about my No, I'm talking about that hook line and sinker. Are we talking about when we first met or when we first talked? Okay. I did a video about rebota. Like shaking my butt and he saw it and then he said, thank you. Yeah, she said. Shaking my butt. Yeah, so that's what I'm learning from her. I have all this butt and nothing to do with it. I did a a a song. I did a he had a huge song called Rebota and I did a song like a dance like shaking my butt and he saw it.

We posted it. I was like, thank you. I love your song. He said, thank you so much for, you know, supporting my song. And then that's how it like we started talking but that's it. And then he went to to LA for the Latin AMAs and then he I was doing a song with his best friend Liano. And then he came I didn't know he was gonna come but he came to visit me just to meet me and that's it. Just literally just to meet me and then it just happened.

Wait, can we talk about sliding into the DMs for a second? Yeah. How do you slide in? Listen. Wait. How do you slide in and what happens? Are they all open? I'm new to I don't know.

Yeah, yeah. You can just slide into people's DMs. They'll they see it. They don't. This is my opinion. I think when it's right, it's right. And I also think if you took the nicest piece of steak, you don't have to talk about how nice the steak is. You just present the steak and people buy it. So in my opinion fellas, just slide in the DMs, be confident, shoot your shot. And if you get shot down, just keep it rolling onto the next one. Or or or Raya. It's a cool app.

Oh, you know, I actually have never been on that. But I've heard that that is pretty cool.
