Oh, it's easier to go that way. I know. Wait, are we rolling? Okay, I'm sorry. We're just chatting here. I'm with Zoey Lister Jones and Brooklyn Decker and we're in your hometown. Welcome to Austin!
Yes.
And we're at a wine tasting, like, I love you. It's perfect. I know. This was not on our plan, but we are so going with it. So what do we have to eat when we're in Austin? Tell us like one place if we had to, you know.
If you want to go shopping, walk down Congress Avenue. There are incredible restaurants and a lot of cool antique stores, a lot of boutiques. It's just a really fun way to see the funky side of Austin. So walk down Congress. You'll get like a really good dose.
I've got another words. Really? What did I say? Funky? I was being Funky. Funky, very appropriate. Keep Austin weird, right? Young Hollywood. And I have to ask you, cuz there was something on your Twitter. Matthew McConaughey in the forefront and it was "Just keep living, all right, all right, all right." No, everybody's talking about that. That's becoming like a catch phrase now. So what was that? Where was that taken?
I know, I know. I was at the Independent Spirit Awards and I was seated at the table behind him. Um, and I'm like such a huge fan and it is the McConaissance. I don't know that. As you all know. I mean, I love that one. I love it.
Yeah, the McConaissance.
He's having a moment. So my, um, husband was watching them. I wasn't watching them and he was like, "Oh my God, you're in the same shot as Matthew McConaughey." So I had to Instagram it.
So did you listen in on the conversation? Cuz I'd be leaning over there the whole time and just, let's see. I would love to know what goes on like in his world. Sort of behind the scenes. I know. Is that guy as good in front of the camera?
I was actually like more tuned in to Camila, cuz I want to know everything that's happening with her at all times. So then that's sort of, like, lends itself to this show, because that is sort of a theme of the show is having girl envy. Yes. And having friend envy. Cuz I'm the same way. I could care less about the hot guy. I wanna know where she got her outfit, where she got her handbag. So let's talk about the show. So you, I think uh, James Van Der Beek, one of your co-stars, talked about it being kind of like an old-school sitcom. Like, do you know, like, what does he mean by that?
Yeah. We shoot in front of a live audience, which I feel like is a big part of that. That's how some of the best sitcoms in history were filmed and not as many shows are filmed that way. So I think the format of shooting in itself is very old school. And um, I I think the theme is sort of a classic theme. It's a group of friends that people want to watch and be a part of hopefully. But also very raunchy and modern at the same time.
Yeah, I know. They have to be a little bit raunchier now, now in this, you know, in 2014, it has to be a little bit.
Well, it's dealing, I mean, it's dealing with like modern relationships, so it's also dealing heavily with sex and it does not shy away from that.
Right, right. Is there anybody in your life or or like that you see like I think Beyoncé when I think of this. Somebody who you are sure has an amazing life. Cuz you know, you never really can tell what goes on behind the scenes. Yes. Who would you say for either of you would be somebody
We were actually just singing Beyoncé.
Beyoncé. Yeah. It's kind of
We were just looking at her Instagram and she was stripping on a pole and looked so classy. How does that happen?
I think that people are too complex to have fully amazing lives. Yeah. I feel like everyone's struggling. I hope there's something that makes someone somewhat normal. Yeah. Do you know? I hope that there's something that's not perfect.
I just think Beyoncé's struggling.
You do? Yeah. Deep down. Breaking news. Breaking news, Young Hollywood. Beyoncé is struggling.
There's a reason she's on that pole. She does not have it together right now.
Okay, so we have a game for you guys. It's called Who Has it Better? And we're gonna give you scenarios. Okay. Who has it better? Your friend who lives in Paris or your friend who lives in Hawaii?
Hawaii.
Paris.
Twist. I'm not a big city person and you can't really hike in Paris. I don't know.
Listen, I'm a city girl. I was raised in Brooklyn. I like, I love Paris. It's so romantic.
Okay, so a little difference of opinion there. Okay, who has it better? Your friend who is never tired. The one who has boundless energy or the one who never physically ages. Or looks tired.
Never physically ages.
Physically ages. Let's be honest.
Oh, that's beyond. What does it look like? I know. Is it not looking good together? All right, then we're fine. Okay, last but not least. Who has it better? Your friend who can read minds or your friend who can predict the future?
Future. But the future scares me. I don't I don't wanna know the
I say minds. That's like the secret power I wish I had.
You do? Oh.
I wanna know what they're thinking all the time.
Oh God, it would be so horrible though.
No, it would be terrible, but I feel like seeing the future would be horrible.
I know. They're both bad. I can't handle that power at all.
So give us a little tease. I saw before you were doing like a little quick tease, it was like, "I'm the person who this, I'm the person who that." Give us a little tease about the show.
Well, it's like it's about six friends who each sort of envy each other's position in life. So
And you have a great career, right? You have like a great
I have a great career and I am like, great sex life. And I have a great sex life. Oh, and act very active. Very active. Oh.
And what do you have?
I also have a very active sex life. But it's a monogamous sex life, whereas hers is is the opposite. Playing the field. It's it is.
So which who has it better? And we'll leave you with that thought. America, you decide.
