Hey, guys. Jessica here with Mr. DJ Skeet Skeet and we're going to one of his favorite places, Scoops.

We are, man. It's right in my neck of the woods, one of my favorite hideouts, so here we go.

I'm excited about this. I love ice cream.

You know what? The cool thing about this place is they always have new stuff. Like there's always kind of wild flavors that I haven't seen before. There's Amareula Cream Liqueur. Yuzu Pineapple today. There's like all kinds of olive oil, vanilla salt, all kinds of crazy concoctions. Uh, Banana Oreo is something I'd dig and the Brown Bread's really popular.

I'm so overwhelmed. Right? Your momma's, momma's, momma wasn't making olive oil, vanilla salt ice cream.

You never know, she might have been. She was ahead of her time, I feel like.

Okay. So, what are you going to get today?

You know what? I'm going to uh I might get outside myself. I think I'm going to check out the Red Velvet Oreo because that just sounds like two of my favorite things mixed into one.

Yeah. I think I'll probably try uh the non-dairy caramel. Hmm. What about you? What are you thinking?

I think I'm actually going to join you on the Red Velvet Oreo because I love Red Velvet and Oreo and I'll do the Banana Oreo. That's my I like bananas, too.

You're getting outside yourself right now. We are pushing your culinary limits. Okay. So, I know, you know, we came here for the ice cream but I want to find out a little bit about you.

What do you want to find out? What do you want to know?

Okay. Well, first I want to know your social. No, I'm just kidding. Um okay. I know you're getting ready to start a tour with Katy Perry. Yeah. Tell me, how did you get on that tour?

You know what? I've known Katy for a long time. We've worked on music for years and as she was getting this tour together, she really wanted to kind of mix up some of the arrangements and some of the kind of uh the version of the songs she's playing live. So, I went in and kind of helped her to tweak some of the more rock and roll songs, make them a bit more electronic, a bit more dance floor. And was talking with her and her manager and they were like, "Hey, man, how would you like to come out, you know, and do some like European dates with us?" And I was like, "I would love to," you know, "how would it work out?" We kind of talked about it and uh from the opener and Katy, there was about a 35, 40-minute break and I'm just DJing in between kind of getting the crowd hyped. We did Europe and uh she invited me out to come and do like Australia, New Zealand and then I went and did some Asian tour dates in Japan and Singapore and then now we're doing this American leg and uh it's been great, man. It's been like a total blessing and it's been awesome.

What were like some of the best places that you went or like, do you have any crazy stories from any of those places?

You know what? Th one of the really cool things is we had five days off in Berlin, which is one of our favorite cities in the world. So, I got to see some friends over there, got to explore and travel and like, yes, you can tell, I'm Mr. like food guy. So, I was eating everything in sight all over Europe. We were in Portugal, in Lisbon. Went to this amazing Indian spot, had this like crazy curry. Uh in Berlin, it has some really good Vietnamese food. I mean, that's probably the high for me is I get to go on tour, meet all kinds of cool new people and eat all kinds of wild stuff and play a little music on the side.

You grew up in Iowa. Did you ever think that like, like, okay, I want to be a DJ. This is what I want to do with music, like or were you like peer pressured into being like, no, I'm going to put on a business suit?

You know what? Like I definitely remember being a kid and being like, "Man, all I want to do when I grow up is like wear a suit and be on airplanes," but like, I think I got one half of that equation because I'm on airplanes 24/7, but I don't, I don't think I ever wanted to be a DJ and even when I started, I was kind of like, you know, having a piss take with the whole concept of DJing, like, I thought it was kind of funny. Like I played in hardcore bands, you know. I didn't know what it was about. I didn't understand the culture and the art side of it. So, when I first started, it was just, I was making music and digital DJing becoming to be where you can make a song and play it that night. So, it was really intriguing to me, you know what I mean? Like if I could make a song and share it with someone that night, instead of having to rehearse it and get five guys together and do whatever. And that was the appeal to me. But then when I figured out, you know, how you could educate people with music and expose them to new things and make a living, you know, having a lot of fun, it became like real interesting to me and that's kind of when I got into it.

I heard that you got your name from Skeeter Valentine. Yes. Do you watch Doug? Because like I was the biggest Doug fan. I'm a Doug geek. That's where I get really nerdy.

I'm I'm totally a Doug fan. That's thing is that growing up, you know, if you grew up watching cartoons in the '90s, I think Doug had a special place in your heart, you know what I mean? So, my best friend for the longest time was this skinny little white dude named Adam and I was like his token black friend, you know, Trevor. So, they started calling me Skeeter and that was kind of it and, you know, like, obviously the play on words with Skeet Skeet was like hilarious at the time and it's just been like, you know, something that people never forget.

Okay. So, other than the tour coming up, what else are you working on?

Oh, man. It's been kind of uh mental. I just put out a single with a singer named Nadya Oh and a rapper named Donnis. It's called I Like It Loud. That's coming out, it's out. This remix is coming out after that. Um I have a band I'm producing called DWN from right here in L. A. , it's just DWN TWN. It's actually like the thing I'm most proud of ever in the studio, for sure, you know. Like really great songs, really great kids. Um and that's been really great. You know, I'm just trying to stay creative and like stay busy and I just like every day I throw new tasks on my plate and see if I can finish them all, so.

Awesome. Okay. Well, I think we should enjoy our ice cream before it melts because this is insane.
