They can come through here and learn vocal technique, dance, and song writing. So let's see what it's all about. We are sitting here with Akil from Jurassic 5 at the Hollywood Pop Academy. Well, I got invited down to teach on hip hop and stuff, you know, and just relay my experiences, where I came from and how does hip hop relate. What message did you really want to get across to the students? Oh, you should do a lot of drugs and alcohol and, you know, you'll be No, obviously.

Just to be yourself and find your artistic expression and push push from where, you know, you come from. What's the best piece of advice you would give to aspiring artists? Believe in yourself. If you don't believe in yourself, you can't expect for someone else to believe in you. Own your craft, study it, and and know who did it before you. How did your students do today? Oh, they were wonderful, man. I got a a B-girl right here. I got a MC, I got a DJ right here. They're part of my crew. Um so I call it um knowledge, rhythm, and understanding and stuff, so, you know, it's an acronym for crew. Now, speaking of being a performer, tell us about this amazing place.

Well, you know, I think what's so fantastic about it is that they groom young young performers so that they can bring something more than just a good voice to the stage. Often times when you go see young um people do a showcase or something, what's missing is that special spark. And it's schools like this that kind of give you a safe place to rehearse and mess up. And it was so helpful because when I went from that school to working professionally, it was a very smooth transition. Places like, you know, the Hollywood Pop Academy do that for young performer. They help you enter the real world and feel like you're already prepared. Young Hollywood, respect life and life will respect you.
