Do you remember ice cream trucks with their ice cream trucks?
Oh my gosh, do I remember. That's the only way you can get a Tweety Bird ice cream.
Kinzie here with the Young Hollywood. We are at the Ola House, heart of Los Angeles, revitalizing it with some of your favorite celebrities. I'm not even gonna hide the fact that I'm with my girlfriend right now, Miss Kiki Palmer. Over here hanging out. What's up? We're gonna do something today.
No. We really are. This is all about getting out there and being active and, you know, a part of your community, helping in any way that you can. Just get out there and do something. And I'm excited today to meet all the kids out here. And I think it's really important that we're encouraging teens to get involved and try and, you know, push for social change. I think it's really special.
Well, I think it's great 'cause it encourages the kids, you know, to go out and be a part of their community as well and make it better. There are so many things for us to do today. We've got paint, we've got gardening. Do you fancy yourself a gardener?
I think so. I think we're gonna go for the gardening.
This week's motto is the summer of doing. What will you be doing this summer?
Uh, well, trying to get a job.
I have a lot of things actually I wanna do this summer. I actually am trying to get into producing, believe it or not.
I'm gonna be going out on tour all summer with um, my mates Big Time Rush. We're going on a big summer tour. It's gonna be really fun.
I'm navigating through motherhood this summer. So, um, you know, my baby's two months old and um, we're in a great routine and every day it's something new. And I think that's where my focus is going all summer.
I'm gonna be trying to convince everyone in the greater Los Angeles area that they should be watching a show I did this premiering July 9th on TNT.
Really like going down to the beach. Like there's nothing like just laying in the sun and you know, playing in the water, hanging out in the water. I do, I used to surf a little bit more. I really want to get back into it. It's such a fun hobby. So this summer I think I'm really gonna try to get back into surfing more.
I think I'm just gonna be hanging out in LA and I just got a puppy. She's, you know, needs to be trained, so I think I'm gonna be spending a lot of time doing that this summer.
Being a mommy.
Being a mom. Yes. Not a bad job. So it's fun.
Probably swimming in the ocean. I haven't been to the beach for a while. I'm Australian, so I need to be close to the water and I haven't seen the ocean in a while, so hopefully this summer I'll be at the beach.
It's summertime. Do you, do you remember ice cream trucks? Were there ice cream trucks?
Oh my gosh, do I remember? That's the only way you can get a Tweety Bird ice cream. That's the only way you can get a Bugs Bunny ice cream. That's the only way you can get those specific things. You can't just go into the store and get those.
Do you have um, ice cream trucks in Australia? Growing up?
Yeah, Mr. Whiffey's.
Now when you hear those sounds today, how do you react?
I get really excited because it reminds me of my childhood.
Do you still feel the need to chase after them when you hear the sound?
No, because my parents told me it was the frozen fish truck.
Do you ever hear them when you're around here?
Yes, but I had someone tell me that that actually means that there's no ice cream in the truck, which was a blatant lie. And so now when I hear that, I'm like, there's no ice cream in that truck.
But is there like a vegan kind of ice cream that if you, if you get the, the Joness?
Yeah, well there's vegan desserts that I really, really love. Um, you know what's really nice is when you get a banana and you put it in the freezer, when you take it out, you sprinkle it with raw almond butter and uh, you do a little bit of chopped up dates and like almonds. It's it's amazing.
You're just like, you're like the new Martha Stewart. I heard so. That'd be lovely.
