So many stars are here tonight.

We're talking to Ariel Winter, we're talking to Monique Coleman all about girl power.

You're performing tonight?

Yeah.

So that's exciting.

Are you nervous? Do you still get nervous?

Yes, I still get nervous.

I get more nervous for these intimate like luncheons.

So tell me you are hosting tonight.

Are you nervous?

Probably not, right?

I mean I I'm a little bit of both.

I feel like if you're not nervous, then uh you're not as invested.

What is one thing that you struggle with personally or that you'd love to improve on as a woman to feel more empowered?

Like for me, I'd love to be more assertive.

Is there something that you would love to improve on?

For me, I have I definitely have uh insecurities with my body.

I I have insecurities with other things, you know.

But that's the thing is like, you know, everybody I I've had my own body journey, you know?

There's working out or losing weight or or falling off and being depressed.

I have depression anxiety, you know?

Working on those things is important to me.

That would make me feel more of an empowered woman if I could feel better mentally.

I could nitpick myself until I go to bed.

Like every day there's something I want to improve on and um and that's why I come to things like this because I do believe hearing other women's stories and um seeing how they have, you know, gone gone through everything and and they're still here and they're stronger than ever is um really empowering for a younger generation.

Be more active, I guess.

I mean, I I'd like I I don't even mean physically.

I just mean creatively, too.

Um cuz I have a lot of ideas in my head for stuff and I don't usually act on them just because it's it's a struggle to get yourself going sometimes.

Oh, gosh.

Same, same.

I would love to be more assertive, and I also feel like I have imposter syndrome a little bit where sometimes I am in a situation and I don't necessarily fully believe that I deserve to be there, and that needs to change.

I was incredibly shy growing up.

I I never felt like I could use my voice.

I was just a very shy kid, and I think the more that I practiced it, it doesn't come easy, but every time I use my voice, I'm like, "Okay, I did that."

I feel anxious about it.

But every time, I feel a little bit more empowered.

figuring out how to do that and have people not perceive it um the wrong way.

Yeah.

But then you realize like that also comes just from your own self-awareness and and sometimes you will have to say things and and be self-assertive and understand that people won't always take it the way that you intend it.

Um and that's another like again, this goes on and on and on.

What is one major change that you would love to see for women in the world right now?

It could be anything.

I just really want our voices to to actually be heard um and honored.

I'd love everyone to just listen to each other a little bit more and love a little bit more and empathize with one each other with one another a little bit more.

Coming from someone who's an Asian-American female and a woman of color, I think, you know, we're making so many amazing strides in in representation and diversity.

Um like this year we had Crazy Rich Asians, is a huge moment for us.

I think soon we can pass that and that not even be a topic of discussion anymore because it's just so common.

I just think more social norms of like men and women being friends because in media a lot of times friendships between men and women turn into romances.

And that reflects on, you know, kids especially in the real world.

Um and I'm someone who's always liked having male friends because I really related to them in a lot of ways.

Um So, yeah, I just want more, you know, for it to be normal for people to just be friends and not have tension.

Yeah, yeah.

What about you?

If you could pick one change.

Um I I'd like to see stories about girls being recognized as for more than just girls.

You know, the female condition is the human condition.

So, I I I would I would love to see men embrace women's stories as something they can actually relate to more.

Okay, one last question.

Who's your biggest girl hero right now besides your mom and your sisters?

Rihanna.

Rihanna?

Oh, that's the best answer tonight.

It's Rihanna.

I do.

I love her so much.

Oh my gosh.

I would have to say Yara Shahidi.

I mean, she is just so incredibly intellectual at such a young age, so she's definitely goals.

The mind's very quick.

It's her.

I mean it's that just is true.

Um, it's hard to pick because I'm really lucky to know a lot of really important women in my life.

Um but Emily Robinson who plays Olivia in 8th Grade is is truly an inspiration for me.

My mom.

Yeah.

Cause she's amazing.

Oh, I'm gonna cry.

Right?

I love my mama.

Um but also I Yara Shahidi.

Real oh yeah.

Yeah.

Yara Shahidi.

I just love how strong and powerful she is and how she's really using her platform for good.

I also Salma Hayek.

I love Salma Hayek.

Love everything she stands for and everything that she is as a person and uh and as an artist.

She's amazing.
