Are you a fan of dancing, which I think you are?
I am a fan of dance. 5, 6, 7, 8. 1, 2, 3. 4. Bogie, Bogie, Bogie, Bogie, Bogie. This is what the kids were doing outside. 1, 2, 3, 4, airplane. Yeah, pretty good. Right? One, two, three, four. And then other side. Oh other side. Yeah. almost like a workout. Yeah, I got it. I'm going to do that when I go back to my trailer. Yeah, and like practice it again. Really? Yeah.
Bravo. Done. You killed it. Well, you gotta do the Wii, right? Oh my god. It's W, yeah. Shay, here we are. It's We Day.
It's We Day. I love We Day.
Why do you love it? I saw you on stage and you actually said I love this day.
I love it. I love it. I love the energy in the room. There's no other event that's like this. And I mean just having all of those young kids in one room being so inspired to make a difference. I mean, what can be better than that?
You know, most of them look up to you. What would you say to them if they came up to you right now and said, how do I make a difference?
You know, you never have to go through anything alone. There's so many different places where you can go and talk to somebody, your school counselors, a parent. I mean, there's so many amazing groups now that you can go to that I wish I knew about when I was in high school. Maybe I didn't look into it that much. But, um, I definitely always would tell those kids to speak up about it.
So, what foundations are you passionate about?
I mean, the Wii movement is one that I really focus on. I just think it's amazing and I've been with them to Kenya before and had such a great experience. I mean, just seeing the passion that they had for, you know, the education they were getting is amazing. And sometimes it made me feel a little guilty because we take it for granted sometimes.
So you finished filming?
Yeah. It's airing. It's final. Stop. Final. I think it's like what, seven or eight more episodes left, which is so crazy to think about. I know.
What was it like to say goodbye to the cast and crew?
It was hard. It was really difficult, you know, which is why I literally had to write a letter and put it on online for people to see because I couldn't say that to every single person. And I mean it was really emotional. It was seven years of building a whole other family. Um, with such an amazing cast and crew. But we have all of each other's numbers and that's not going to be the last time that I see them.
Well, you're going to see something forever uh, on your hand.
Oh yeah, my, oh I was like, wait, what? Uh, yes. My character's initials. E for Emily is currently on there. Yeah.
Was that just the most horrific experience ever? I can't imagine.
You know, I'm not the biggest tattoo lover. Um, all the girls have several tattoos. So this was just like whatever for them. But yeah, I mean I had asked if we could do henna instead but they wanted something more permanent. So, I mean, I would do anything for them and I jumped on board.
Pain?
Yeah. I almost broke Ashley's hand.
