"The Haunting of Bly Manor" Cast Includes Familiar Faces From "Hill House"!
Last year, Netflix released the amazingly eerie series “The Haunting of Hill House”, loosely based on Shirley Jackson’s novel of the same name, released in 1959. The show quickly became a hit and remains one of Netflix’s best original series.
After the first season came out, creator and visionary Mike Flanagan announced that it would continue as an anthology series, and soon after, he announced that Season 2 would be called “The Haunting of Bly Manor”, inspired by Henry James’s 1898 novella The Turn of the Screw.
Recently, Mike Flanagan revealed some of the main cast, and quite a few familiar faces from “The Haunting of Hill House” are returning!
The first cast member announced was Victoria Pedretti, who played sweet Nellie Crain in the first season. She will be leading the new season as Dani, the governess of two children at Bly Manor. Next to confirm their return was Oliver Jackson-Cohen, who played Nellie’s twin Luke. He will be Peter, “a charming young man who lives at Bly."
It seemed like that was going to be it, but just last week, Mike Flanagan made some more casting announcements. We were happily surprised to learn that Kate Seigel (his wife in real life), who played Theo Crain, Henry Thomas, who played the younger version of Hugh Crain, and Catherine Parker, who was the creepy and conniving ghost Poppy, are all returning for the new season. However, Flanagan revealed nothing about what their roles will be.
We also finally got our look at some of the new actors joining “The Haunting of Bly Manor”! If you are a fan of the CW’s “iZombie”, then get excited, because Rahul Kohli will be playing "a small town guy with a worldly mindset, who has returned to the country to take care of his ailing mother." T'Nia Miller from “Years and Years” will have a role, and newcomers Amelia Eve and Benjamin Ainsworth are playing Flora and Miles, the two children Dani is tasked to care for.
Well, that’s all we know for now! Mike Flanagan said that there is still more information to come, but this is the main cast. While you wait, check out Flanagan’s next project, the long-awaited sequel to The Shining, Doctor Sleep!
Coming out on November 8, it stars Ewan MacGregor as a grown up Danny Torrence, and it looks super creepy! We can’t wait to see it!
