Vampire Weekend – Father of the Bride

If you read our Track By Track review of this album, then you already understand my love for Vampire Weekend. After a 6-year hiatus, the boys are back (in town) and us indie-music lovers over here are ecstatic. While Father of the Bride isn’t groundbreaking in any way, it is a chill album that will work for all seasons. Plus, the band simply deserves to be on this list for their efforts to create a double album after 6 years apart. It’s not always easy for a band to take a break in making music and then to come back with an album that is just as good as their previous work. Wow, okay, now I need to pick a favorite song… I personally think that “This Life” is the perfect mix between the new and old Vampire Weekend.
