MTV Honoring Jamie Foxx with Generation Award
He’s made us laugh, he’s made us cry, and he’s made us get up and dance… He’s won a Grammy AND an Oscar… and for this, Jamie Foxx is being presented with the MTV Generation Award this Sunday at the MTV Movie Awards.
Foxx blew up in the ‘90s after his stand-up comedy won him a spot on the edgy Fox sketch show, “In Living Color”. More than 20 years later, Foxx has made well sure that America understands that he is no one-trick pony. That is why the same man who brought us LaWanda was able to pull off an Academy Award-winning performance as Ray Charles.
“Jamie has captivated audiences for nearly two decades with a dizzying array of memorable performances, and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate him at this year’s Movie Awards,” said MTV President Stephen Friedman.
Indeed, it takes a special type of talent to be just as relevant and on top of your game in 2013 as you were in 1991!
Congrats, Jamie!
The MTV Movie Awards air this Sunday, April 14, at 9pm on MTV. In the meantime, check us out ballin' at Jamie's crib!
