DISNEY+ TV SERIES

“The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” (Fall 2020)

Feige announced that the first series of Phase 4 slated for Disney’s upcoming streaming service, Disney+, is “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”. The series follows Sam Wilson, who is reprised by Anthony Mackie, as the new Captain America in a timeline that is likely set sometime after Spider-Man: Far From Home. Sebastian Stan will also star in the series as Mackie’s crime-fighting partner, Bucky Barnes, and Daniel Bruhl will reprise his role as the series villain, Zemo. Written by “Empire”’s Malcolm Spellman and directed by “The Handmaid’s Tale”’s Kari Skogland, the 6-episode original series is due sometime next fall.

“WandaVision” (Spring 2021)

The new Doctor Strange movie isn't the only place you'll be seeing the Scarlet Witch in the coming years... The upcoming “WandaVision” series will reunite Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany as they reprise their roles as Wanda Maximoff and Vision. Plot specifics for the project remain tightly under wraps; however, the timeline of the show will be set after the events of Avengers: Endgame, so it’s unclear how Vision, who was killed in Infinity War, will be revived. However, if Tony Stark can bring back half of the universe, Marvel will surely find a way to bring back the semi-corporeal Vision. The series will also feature Teyonah Parris as a grown-up Monica Rambeau, whom you will remember as the precocious daughter of Carol Danvers's BFF Maria in Captain Marvel. You can watch the series when it premieres on Disney+ in the spring of 2021.

“Loki” (Spring 2021)

In this standalone Disney+ streaming series, Tom Hiddleston is bringing back the Marvel villain you love to hate, Loki; however, this Loki is not the Loki who grew and changed for the better in Thor: Ragnarok. In this project, he’s the manipulative and selfish Avengers-era Loki. The series will answer the question that we’ve all been asking ourselves: “Where the heck did Loki go and what happened to him when he disappeared with the Tesseract in Endgame?!” You can find out when “Loki” begins streaming in the spring of 2021!

“What If…?” (Summer 2021)

Marvel’s upcoming series “What If…?” isn’t just any Disney+ series. It’s the studio’s first animated venture! WHOOO! The series will focus on alternate reality tales running parallel to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Its star-studded cast includes names like Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Josh Brolin (Thanos), and Chadwick Boseman (T'Challa/Black Panther). The series is slated to premiere on Disney+ in the summer of 2021.

“Hawkeye” (Fall 2021)

This series stars Jeremy Renner as the eponymous archer Clint Barton alongside his protege Kate Bishop, who has yet to be cast. Renner told the crowd in Hall H, “What I get to do in the show ultimately is shepherd an amazing character, ultimately a better version of me and the sentiment of that is the fiber of what Hawkeye is, at least what I think Hawkeye is — a superhero without superpowers and I get to teach someone else to be a superhero without super powers.” The series will launch on Disney’s streaming service in the fall of 2021.
