ICYMI: First Look at Hulu's Adaptation of John Green's 'Looking for Alaska'!

Written by Devon Forward. Published: August 03 2019

We’ve finally got our first trailer for " Looking for Alaska",  Hulu’s upcoming adaptation of John Green’s bestselling book!

The show will be an 8-episode limited series, and it sounds like it will be fairly faithful to the original story.

Without spoilers, here’s the gist of the plot: Teenager Miles “Pudge” Halter (Charlie Plummer) goes to a new boarding school in search of an adventure, something different from his boring life at home. There he meets a charming classmate, Alaska Young (Kristine Froseth), and quickly forms a loyal group of friends with her. Just as quickly, he also falls in love with Alaska. Then a horrible tragedy happens. This is actually revealed at the beginning of the book, and will be at the beginning of the limited series as well (so not a spoiler, I promise). Afterward, Miles works with his friends to try to make sense of what happened.

The sneak peek doesn’t show us much, but it does feature Pudge’s voice saying one of the most famous lines of the book: “I go to seek a great perhaps.”

The supporting cast includes Denny Love as Chip Martin and Jay Lee as Takumi, as well as Sofia Vassilieva, Uriah Shelton, Jordan Conner, Timothy Simons, and Ron Cephas Jones

The novelLooking for Alaska was actually Green's first-ever published book and came out way back in 2005 (fourteen years ago!). An adaptation has been rumored to be in the works for almost as long, so loyal fans have been waiting a LONG TIME for this. Hulu seems like the perfect place for the show, and we are very excited to see it!

Keep an eye out for the limited series, hitting the streaming platform on October 18, 2019!
