ICYMI: Disney Announces Its Slate of Phase 4 Marvel Films In The Coming Years!

With the release of Disney+ on November 12, the Disney mega-corporation continues to make exciting announcement after exciting announcement. One of these anticipated reveals was a release schedule through the year 2023, full of projects from Marvel, Pixar, and Star Wars.

The Marvel releases are scheduled to premiere between October 2022 and November 2023. Before then, Marvel is set to release Black Widow in May 2020, The Eternals in November 2020, and another Doctor Strange installment in May 2021. Later titles also include Thor: Love and Thunder in November 2021 and Black Panther 2 in May 2022.

The announcement of Thor: Love and Thunder and a Black Panther sequel sparked lots of buzz on social media. Many were excited about the return of Natalie Portman as Jane Foster and Mighty Thor, the female version of the Thor hero.

Five of the announced Marvel projects for the upcoming year were untitled, leaving fans to predict which heroes will get a film in the upcoming years. Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios president, has dropped some subtle hints about what the films may be.

Some fans believe that one of the films could be a Captain Marvel sequel, bringing back Brie Larson to the superhero scene and giving us feminist content for days. Guardians of the Galaxy is also returning for a third installment, and after the rollercoaster of emotions the Guardians faced throughout Avengers: Endgame, it is sure to be an action-packed film.

Fans also believe that a sequel to Doctor Strange will take up one of the unnamed slots in the Marvel calendar. Benedict Cumberbatch’s last appearance in the final Avengers film made him an integral member of the team. Hopefully we will see Dr. Stephen Strange working with other members of the Marvel universe in his future films.

Ant-Man is another fan favorite that Marvel viewers hope to see on the big screen sometime soon. Paul Rudd has already returned for a sequel, Ant-Man and The Wasp, but his storyline is far from over. In Avengers: Engame, Paul Rudd’s character Scott Lang essentially saves the day when he comes up with a way to time travel and defeat Thanos once and for all.

Another Spider-Man movie is also possible thanks to meetings that reunited the MCU and Sony to create one more Spider-Man movie under Feige’s production. This means that fans will get to see Tom Holland and Zendaya dazzle the big screen yet again sometime in the near future.

Though there is much fan speculation, Marvel and the stars that portray these heroes have their lips sealed. More information will continue to pour in from Marvel and Disney production companies, and in the meantime Disney+ will allow you to revisit all your old Marvel favorites!
