Horror Thriller 'Dreamcatcher' Brings Together Exciting, Fresh Young Talent!
Are you looking for a new horror movie to sink your teeth into? Then you may have to put Dreamcatcher on your must-watch list.
Dreamcatcher centers around Dylan, known to his fans as DJ Dreamcatcher, who is on the brink of global stardom. But everything changes the night of an underground music festival, where two estranged sisters and their friends meet Dylan. After a gruesome drug-fueled event, things begin to spiral into 48-hours of violence and mayhem.
The horror film is directed by Jacob Johnston, who’s worked on numerous projects from the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a visual development producer. Johnston also wrote the script for Dreamcatcher and will mark Johnston’s directorial debut. Producers Krystal and Brandon Vayada revealed that the idea for Dreamcatcher was to design a film that “brings back the whodunnit, the empty house scare, and backyard fright” all into one story.
But before you press play on “Dreamcatcher,” get to know the young and talented ensemble involved in this horror film.
Starting with Niki Koss, who portrays Pierce in Dreamcatcher. You may have seen her in the Freeform series “Famous in Love” and the film My Stepdaughter. Koss is also an award-winning filmmaker and was named Female Filmmaker of the Year at the 2019 Burbank International Film Festival. She also made Forbes’ 2021 "30 Under 30" list for being the co-founder of Lightning Strikes Productions alongside Lily Blavin.
You might recognize this actor from his portrayal of the fictional character Greg Heffley from the Diary of a Wimpy Kid film franchise. Zachary Gordon plays Jake, Pierce’s best friend, who only wants the best for her. Gordon has also appeared on Freeform’s “Good Trouble” as Tate Wilson.
Dylan, aka DJ Dreamcatcher, is portrayed by Travis Burns, an Australian-born actor who began his acting career playing Chase Robertson in the CW drama series “SAF3” (pronounced "safe") in 2013. Burns is also known for his role as Tyler Brennan in the long-running Australian soap opera “Neighbours” until 2018.
