Who remembers High School Musical from The Disney Channel?! How could we forget Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens? I mean, Helloooo!? Although we’d probably all love a proper reunion with all the OG stars, the next best thing is actually happening. If you haven’t heard, Disney is producing a "High School Musical: The Musical: The Series"!
"High School Musical: The Musical: The Series" is exactly what the title suggests it is. It is a musical. and it is a series. The series plays out like a mockumentary, following a group of students at East High who are creating a performance of High School Musical. Check out the trailer below:
Looks great, right?! The stars in the series include Joshua Bassett, Olivia Rodrigo, Matt Cornett, Kate Reinders, Julia Lester, Larry Saperstein, Sofia Wylie, Dara Renee, Frankie Rodriguez, and Mark St. Cyr. You can begin watching these students' journey November 8 on ABC, Disney Channel, and Freeform. You can also start streaming the series on Disney+ on November 12. I definitely want to see how these students reenact Troy Bolton and Gabriella Montez.
Oooooh, looks like there will be a little drama and a little love interest going on in the series as well. Ricky seems to be the shy kid that has a crush on Nini. I can’t wait to see how this all plays out. Come on Ricky, get your head in the game!
Who wouldn’t like Nini? Just by meeting Nini in that short little teaser, she seems super sweet. Plus her accent when she’s nervous?! Maybe there’s just a whole other person inside her looking for a way to come out... (Get it? Did you get the Gabriella quote? Come on High School Musical fans, I hope you got that.)
Anyways, the series already looks good and I guess the studio thought so too because, guess what? Season 2 of the series has already been confirmed! Sheesh that was quick! I can’t wait to catch these Wildcats perform one of our most loved Disney movies. This is the start of something new!
