From playing a reigning monarch in Netflix’sThe King to portraying the sensitive boy-next-door in Little Women, Timothée Chalamet has had quite a year in movies following his breakout in 2017 with Awards Season darlings Call Me By Your Name and Lady Bird.

Good news is that the New York native shows no signs of stopping as it has just been announced that Chalamet’s next role is playing the legendary folk and rock n roll singer Bob Dylan!

Directed by James Mangold, who helmedFord v Ferrari last year, the new biopic is going to be centered on a young Bob Dylan and will focus on the period of his life when he decided to choose the path of rock 'n' roll. Dylan became a folk star icon at the ripe age of 19, and when he decided to choose an edgier rock sound, it shook critics and fans alike.

According to Deadline, Chalamet is allegedly taking guitar lessons to prepare for the role, however little is known of whether or not he will be attempting to sing Dylan’s songs. Jeff Rosen, Dylan’s manager for years, has signed on to the film to ensure its integrity and authenticity to Dylan’s life. Dylan himself is also consulting on the film, so it is sure to be as accurate as possible.

As far as Chalamet is concerned, this is one of several films the young star has slated for the upcoming year. He is appearing in the Wes Anderson filmThe French Dispatch and starring in the highly anticipated Dune, directed by Denis Villenueve

The film’s title has not yet been confirmed, but many in the industry have been referring to it as "Going Electric". Here’s to an electric 2020, congratulations Timmy! More updates should be coming from the studio in the coming months.
