First Trailer for David Harbour's 'Hellboy' Promises a Devilishly Good Time!
What do you get when you cross Chief Jim Hopper with a demon from Hell who investigates paranormal activity? An AMAZING Season 3 of "Stranger Things"!
Just kidding. No, you get the newest reboot of Hellboy starring David Harbour and directed by the man who helmed what is widely considered the best episode of "Game of Thrones" in the series.
Now, while some might consider Giullermo Del Toro's Hellboy starring Ron Perlman to be the definitive (you'll get no argument from me), this new take on the Dark Horse Comics character is sure to bridge any gap between casual viewers and hardcord fans, if the new trailer is anything to go by:
Whew! Is it hot in here, or is it just the jacked demon? It's literally Chief Hopper in Hellboy cosplay, and I am not mad at it. That dry, ironic sense of humor, which both Hellboy and Harbour are known for, meld seamlessly in this trailer, and can we talk about those horns?? Yes, looks like we'll be seeing some of Hellboy's backstory in this version, before he sawed off his magnificant horns. That's worth the price of admission alone, quite frankly.
This version of the film reportedly pulls from the Darkness Calls, The Wild Hunt, and The Storm and the Fury Hellboy comics by creator Mike Mignola (who is a co-writer on the film) and it will be the first Hellboy film with an R rating (so expect a lot of Deadpool vibes). The film also boasts a pretty exciting supporting cast, including Ian McShane as Trevor Bruttenhold, Hellboy's adoptive father, and the magnificent Milla Jovovich as Hellboy's chief antagonist, Nimue The Blood Queen. Throw in Neil Marshall, who directed the epic "Blackwater" episode of "Game of Thrones", and I think we're going to have one HELL of a Spring 2019! (sorry not sorry)
Hellboy opens April 12, 2019.
