Everything You Need To Know About Rob McElhenney’s Apple TV+ Series "Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet"!
Apple TV+’s stock is on the rise as of late, and its all thanks to their attention to quality over quantity. The fledgling streaming service didn’t come out of the gate with a massive library of popular licensed titles. Instead, it offered its subscribers a handful of brilliantly structured originals that have garnered a hefty amount of buzz after a rather dismal start. Of all its compelling programs, “The Morning Show” stands out amongst the rest, especially since it’s won a Critics Choice Award and a SAG Award.
Now that Apple has gotten its first taste of awards glory, the tech giant will definitely want to keep the streak alive, and to help them achieve that goal will be one next-level laugh riot.
From Charlie Day and Rob McElhenney, the creators of “Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia”, comes a brand new half-hour comedy called "Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet". The highly anticipated Apple series will follow a group of video game developers as they attempt to run a popular video game while dealing with the ego of their narcissistic boss, Ian Grimm.
Also along for this side-splitting affair will be acclaimed comedy writer Megan Ganz, who is known for her stellar work on such hit series as “Modern Family”, “The Last Man on Earth”, and “Community”.
The people behind the camera are just as impressive as those that will be in front of it. McElhenny himself plays Grimm, who wants this game to make him a legend and will drive everyone else nuts trying to heed his massive ego. He is the kind of guy that pictures himself riding an enormous bird through the air while waving a shovel around in a menacing manner.
If that's hard to imagine, Apple has everyone covered with a special behind-the-scenes glimpse of "Mythic Quest":

The cutting-edge comedy also stars Academy Award winner F. Murray Abraham and “Community” star Danny Pudi. Rounding out the cast of “Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet” are David Hornsby (who fans will recognize as Rickety Cricket from “Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia”), Ashly Burch, Jessie Ennis, Charlotte Nicdao, and Imani Hakim.
Apple is hoping “Mythic Quest” will resonate well with the gaming community, a group consisting of individuals from all over the world that collectively spent $43.4 billion in that industry back in 2018, and that just in the United States. Ubisoft is also in the mix -- helping with the authenticity will be the company behind such hit video game as Assassin's Creed, Watch Dogs, and Far Cry, just to name a few.
Between the subject matter and the credentials of its creators, it's going to be hard for audiences to sleep on this one.
Many people are still on the fence, but this could have many deciding to click subscribe. The iPhone seller seems very confident in the series, as they have already renewed “Mythic Quest” for a second season before the release of the first. Given its subject matter and the pedigree of its creators, this isn’t very surprising of a move.
All 9 episodes will be ready to binge-watch if this comedy convinces them to take a bite out of Apple’s streaming platform.
“Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet” will be available on Apple TV+ starting February 7.
