In the season finale, everything seems to be going great until Shawn decides to bring in Simone, Chidi’s ex-girlfriend. Having just told Eleanor he loves her, this throws everyone for a loop. Fearing that he can’t lie and therefore mess up the experiment, he tells Michael to erase his memory. After a montage of the 300 years Eleanor and Chidi spent together in the afterlife, Chidi’s memory is erased and Eleanor must greet him as the architect.
