Ella Emhoff’s Best Fashion Moments (So Far)!

If you haven’t heard of Ella Emhoff, you will soon. This 21-year-old fashion student, designer, and step-daughter of Vice President Kamala Harris is already making waves in the fashion industry not even two months into the 2021 year.

Emhoff started attending Parsons School of Design in 2017, where she studies textiles and apparel and is expected to graduate this year with her BFA. After her stunning outfit at the Presidential Inauguration in January, Emhoff was offered a contract with IMG Models, joining the ranks of models like Chrissy Teigen, Kate Moss, Bella and Gigi Hadid, Karlie Kloss, and Hailey Bieber, to name a few. And, just one day after debuting on the New York Fashion Week runway in Proenza Schouler’s FW21 show, she was featured as the cover girl of Europe’s DUST Magazine – her first cover, but certainly not her last.

1. It’s All Colors and Knits

Emhoff is known for her knits, so this outfit, shot for Mall.NYC, which showcases "independent and emerging designers", is so her. She made the vest herself, and the bright pops of color throughout the outfit along with the overall layering and maximalism is perfect for her.

2. The Inaugeration Outfit

This roundup of Emhoff’s best fits so far wouldn’t be complete without the look that started it all: her inauguration outfit. She wore this tartan Mui Mui coat with orange jewel-encrusted shoulders, classy enough for the event but exciting enough to be an eye-catching fashion statement.

3. Patchwork Party

Ella was posted wearing Tyler McGillivary’s red-and-orange checkerboard long-sleeve and paired it with a pair of patchwork jeans and a black-and-white striped hat. It’s the kind of wild and exciting meshing of patterns that we’re learning to expect and appreciate from Emhoff.

4. The Black Trench

This was one of the looks that Emhoff wore for Proenza Schouler’s NYFW show, and while she didn’t style it herself, she pulled it off beautifully with her signature curls. And, in true Ella Emhoff style, we get some color and pattern peeking out at the neck to complement the texture of the jacket.

Emhoff is just at the beginning of her career, but she’s already made waves in the fashion industry, both in modeling and her own designs. We’re looking forward to more fun and quirky looks from her in the future and can’t wait to see what she does next!
